- Kakashi and Obito's generation was gory and they still live up to their gore
gaara had no problem crushing people to with his sand
he really was the only true monster of this generation though
i believe that society as a whole is evolving in naruto, as the lands become more civilized
and in the new age of peace that is bound to follow this war, the art and craft of being a shinobi will eventually cease to be a neccessity
Not sure why you seem to want more gore to be honest, its kinda weird.
there has been plenty of gore in naruto
not too much or too little
kishimoto hit a home run in that aspect
however i believe the op was not referring to the manga as a whole, instead he was simly saying the recent generation is not as violent as those from the past
It would be disconcerting if Sakura -a mednin- sought to create a bloody mess instead of preventing it.
Sasuke has no need to make bloodsport. He cuts, burns or hypnotize his opponents. Having him "ku..ku..ku.." with his hands bloody after impaling/decapitating opponents with chidori would be... slightly psychotic. He may be singular in his mindset, but he's far from a full-blown headcase like Deidara or Hidan.
Naruto the savage frog sennin of the blood-pumping badassness! That spattersplatter his enemies through a series of Kage Bunshin foot-fist-headbutt combinations! Ending with impalement on a sennin-increased-super-size-spinning-ninja-knife while he laughs and laughs and.....eh, no. That's the Mortal Kombat way.
Yes, naruto has repeatedly shown to be very reluctant to kill anyone, though sasuke has a very efficiency-oriented mindset, before itachi he told hebi not to kill anyone, he is unlikely to get covered in blood anytime soon, in fact shino is probably the only real killer in his generation among konoha, shown when he used his leeches to kill those mist nins, and blew up zaku's arms, effectively making him useless and killing him, then he tried to eat konan and did eat that bijuu fodder in the last chapter. Other than that they all grew up in peacetime, you saw how upset everyone became after just loosing one person in the war, in the past people didn't even flinch when their brother died right in front of them even though both were little kids.
They're basically spoiled, their missions are full of gardening and finding lost cats and things like that. You can see how they mostly hid or helped civilians when the sound and sand attacked, and how they were absent after pain hit them with shinra tensei.
Kakashi's generation were involved in wars and village attacks (Kyuubi) from as young as age 12-15 so its natural that Kakashi & Asuma are people who naturally fight by sealing the win with killing your opponent.
The current generation experienced the Sound and Sand invasion but they were either unconscious or just sheltered by the Chuunins and Jonins in the war.
Only a few went out and fought.
Their first World War is where all the people are on one team and some weird creatures (Zetsu clones) are the opponents so they are barely human.
There hasn't been an opportunity for them to feel a lot of gore like Kakashi and Asuma's generation did.
Sasuke however, provides gore. He summoned Manda just to shelter him from Deidara's final blast lmao. And casually let him die. That's because his people were killed in front of him.
I'm speaking for the Leaf of course.
