*stares blankly at the added spoiler pic*
So, maybe not toys, but then what ? Looks a bit like modern art with the split faces and cubic Chopper, yet there seems to be some obvious cultural reference here that I am simply missing. Famous artist ? Another popular manga ? Please, be kind to the 1%. :/
Regardless of any actual story conseqences, I like how Oda keeps goofing around with the looks of the Straw Hats. It's part of what keeps OP ever fresh.
I think so too , Brook make me think of the painting "The Scream". Maybe Trebol has a paint paint devil fruit.

I don't know in which high school Stephen went or maybe I'm too old...
It's true that they don't look like toys but the only thing I recognize 100% is scream-brook.
Chopper looks more like a minecraft character.
Chopper = Cubism.
Do you guys realize what this may mean?An Art Fruit?
Remember that the statue of Kyros appeared one day out of nowhere?
I don't think it's about what they look like because they really look like toys i think that what Stephen is saying here is that with the context it's quite obvious that they are not TOYS not transformed in toys or something that must be obvious if he goes this far by saying that only a "fucking idiot" would understand it this way, maybe it's as they said a thought , paint or chopper imagining this while brook tell him scary stories about people turning into toys haha if Stephen is right it'll understand it quite easely when we'll read the chapter so no need to worry !
But i find all this quite rude for the person that spend his time for us to have spoilers to be injured of " fucking idiot " lol.
I think momo and chopper look very much like toys, and all in all it makes much sense that DD has a person in crew with such a DF power. >> I've read only last page when was writing this, so I'll take it as bad translation, though they still do look like toys
Also about Barto, Cavendish, Bellamy etc. I have a strong feeling that Luffy will trash them all at once, with haki or with strongass moves, but fast and all together. For this they must make him mad somehow, but imho Luffy needs some overepic moment in front of big audience, and situation fits nice for this.
And I wonder how his bounty would raise after this arc

Kind of confusing but nevertheless i'm still looking forward to read the actual chap . This all confusion made me so anxious lol
Besides i'm dying to see Luffy going crazy I wanna see some blood
Probably I'm an idiot, but those seem toys to me, expecially Nami, she clearly is a inflatable doll lol...
Again, invoking Picasso's cubism or the Scream is just idiotic for me...maybe Oda played with them making some cultural reference, but they still are toys.
Maybe the idiot is the one working to the Viz? Wouldn't be strange.
Again, I go with my original idea, all the toys were humans before and for some reason their memory is lost, so other people act as nothing happened and Dofla is loved as a king.
The Scream is from Edvarch Munch - Norway.
And no, they are not toys.

Yeah could be Mondrian.
Im interested in seeing Baltromeos face with this "My story is much more abstruse" comment, because it could mean many things still.
He might have an innocent smile on his face (like Whitebeards smile when saying he wanted a family), or maybe some malice and evil look on his face... This is the most CRUCIAL detail of this chapter I'm obviously interested in!
Also BELLAMY... Let'see where this is gonna go
Chopper doesn't look at all like a Mondrian painting (at least his most famous ones). It's not really cubism style either. Unless we have more info in the chapter I'm not sure we will have the real reference.
