Well half of them were already dead, and Suigetsu's reaction is all you need to know what kind of vibe he was giving. The killing intent in this situation was pointed towards Tobirama, not towards the living people in the room.

I mean this is a pretty cut and dry scenario, all that is missing is the words "killing intent".

Why would he have killing intent? It's not about power, it's about intent. Konohamaru could have a killing intent with little power just by the menacing glare or evil glare he gives off. I don't see Hashirama ever givin that intent off, it's not in him at all.

Killing Intent is a funny thing because every time it's been used thus far no one has actually killed anyone. It's a way of showing someone that you are capable of killing them, or stopping them or whatever. That is what Orochimaru did to Kakashi, and what Hashirama did to Tobirama. Again this is pretty cut and dry stuff.

Believe it or not, the cracking the floor part was actually a mechanic from hashirama's fight with the third, the same thing happened at that time, when they said it was due to the strength of the chakras on the ceiling.

Again, the flaring of chakra is part of killing intent. Just looking badass doesn't mean shit if you don't have anything to back it up lol.

Yeah, but intent matters as well. Hashirama never planned on hurting Tobirama, it looks more like a "stfu intent" to me than anything.

If Tobirama would have done anything Hashirama would have bitch slapped his ass. A threat doesn't mean anything if you aren't going to go through with it. I'd think Tobirama would know his brother well enough not to fuck with him lol.

And what did it matter anyway, they were all dead.

Threat can mean a lot if you make the other think you can back it up. Bluffing is art. But all Hashirama did was show his power to warn Tobirama to calm down, there was no intent to kill or anything.

Re: Whatever happened to 'Killing Intent' being a means of defeating an enemy?

Ok, and again, I ask, when has there ever been actual intent to kill from someone using "killer intent"? Because I can't ever remember someone using killer intent and then actually trying to kill someone and succeeding.

Orochimaru did it to Kakashi as a bluff to scare him.

Orochimaru also did this to Sasuke but we all know he never had any intent of killing him.

Just saying, "killer intent" has nothing to do with actually intending to kill someone.

Orochimaru and Sasuke... they basically indicated they could kill and were willing to kill if they wanted to. Also wanted to note that both were wicked/evil at the time of the intent, something that Hashirama isn't. Killer intent doesn't need someone to kill, it needs someone to show they don't mind killing or can kill someone.

True, it doesn't. But it does have a lot to do with someone thinking he'll be killed if he fights someone. Sasuke and Kakashi had the image of Orochimaru killing them if they engaged in a fight.

Alright this is going no where, agree to disagree.

Well that killing intent thing remind me of the Ruroni kenshin in which Hajime Saito was trying to use that against Soujiro, and Kenshin tried the same and failed... But in every case that intent isn't use to kill its just use to show that you will not hesitate in killing some one and to weaken the spirit not killing actaully...
In case of Hashirama what broke the room was the impact of his chakra, kinda similar thing was shown when Naruto was making his FRS against Kakuzu and in some other places as well
