Gintama did better than Hunter x Hunter at the box office? Yes.

Also, that list of mangaka people want to see return to Shonen Jack is weird. Personally, I wouldn't want to see any writer or artist who has graduated from Jack and established himself as a proffesional in a different publication, return. Like at all.

Then, do you want to see the established author from different publisher moved to Jump?

I don't want to take a step back because that was what the discussion was about.

Damn, you pull the rug from under my feet. But I still will post my stat on wednesday when the last TOC comes out.

No, not at all. I am quite comfortable with the way this magazine is right now. Mostly young authors, who begin their career here.

His Shonen Jack work, Rising Impact, has serialized just for 4 volumes, so it didn't really stand out back in its day.

The source is written in the post you quoted.

You are mistaking with Ultra Red (Suzuki's second serialization); Rising Impact has a total of 17 volumes.

Nothing exists in a void, there is a big picture. You made the argument that Gintama is a series on decline, and a series Jump will not use as a flagship. This statement does not become any more true if you ignore everything but covers and the TOC. The reality is that Gintama is as popular as ever, extensively promoted throughout the country, considered one of the greatest comedy manga ever, and appeals to fans who do not typically follow Jump.

I don't think he is closely associated with Jump.
