A lot of manga and anime, like mystery novels, have a question (or questions) that have no answer. Usually if it's a big question, the story would end or come to a close if it's answered. The audience then tries to figure out what the answer to those questions are as the story progresses and more clues are uncovered. Sometimes it leads to a heated debate because there might be a lot of good theories that seem plausible!
While you were reading or watching a manga/anime, was there a theory that you deduced correctly that others might have not? How did you end up with that theory? What were some clues or supporting evidence that made you come to that conclusion?
On the other hand, did something turn out to be entirely different from your theory?
Concerning the nature of the thread, please use a spoiler-cut and be careful of spoilers!
Any theory I come up with comes out wrong so I tend to read other people's theories and agree or disagree with them. The only time that I guessed a theory "correctly" was when...
It seemed like nearly the entire fandom thought the same so does it really count?
I remember I had a dream about there being a D.Gray-man chapter where Allen has a dream (dreamception?) and Lenalee wakes him out of it. Then it turned out that next chapter had exactly that. Short story, but I'm still amazed my dream was brought to life like that.
I think I've been wrong more times than I've been right. Its just difficult guessing where a work of fiction will go next. Like, for example, in Shingeki no Kyojin...I think about half the fanbase were blown out of their minds when (chapter 42 spoiler):
Naruto current arc stuff, but Ive always believed Kakashi would die in the manga
This theory I had about Tokyo ESP was proven wrong. My guess about who the masked man was made sense at the time. (I haven't read the manga.)
My theory about Peggy is half-true/half-false.
