I like a lot of characters in BLEACH, but there are some that just resonate with me much more than other theother characters in the manga. Even more-so than characters from other series. I'm going to put this out there now, I'm not as eloquent as I'd like to be, so I sometimes find it hard to put my thoughts into the proper words, so I'll try my damndest to do so in a way that truly represent how I feel about these characters. Some will be more in depth than others and some will probably be for shallow superficial reason, but it is what it is. This list is in no real order, though I do have some specific favorites in this list that I will address.
I love everything about Uryu. His look, his mannerisms, his agendas, everything. He is intelligent and has a distinctive aura about him. But one thing that makes him an interesting character is his relationship with Orihime. I'm going to just put this out there now. I think by the end of the series, Uryu is going to get with her. The way Kubo has them interact every time they get together just screams it. But right now, she still really "loves" Ichigo, so we'll see. The scenes are sprinkled through the series. When they first go to S.S. and the both of them are separated together, while Ichigo was fighting against Byakuya, when he heard she got kidnapped, when he arrive during Ichigo and Ulquiorra's final fight, when he was recently at Ichigo's house and she said some crap about liking that he's friends with Ichigo, and a couple of other tiny scenes. I personally don't like Orihime due to that little "Kurosaki-Kun" outburst, but I will tolerate her if she ends up with Uryu. He is also quite the boss. He was calm and collect when he freaking attempted to go toe to toe with Ulquiorra, even though he knew that dude was much stronger than he was. But did that stop him? Nope, he lost a hand and kept on trucking. But is that it? Nope. After Ichigo's dumbass hollowfied into Ichigonator, he went up to him, after seeing him take out Ulquiorra like it was nothing, and stopped him from doing the finishing blow. Although he got stabbed for his troubles, it was an awesome scene. He took action and attempted to save his friend from losing his humanity. I think I've written enough about Uryu, so I won't even go into detail about my thoughts on his lineage and why I think he is destined for awesomeness, but I will just say this for now; I expect great things from him in this upcoming arc and his role in this arc is something I am really looking forward to.
Ah, nearly everyone's least favorite Captain. You'll soon see, but I have a tendency to end up liking characters that nearly everyone else dislikes for some reason. But that's okay, it makes me feel special. Tousen is quite the interesting character that I can actually somewhat relate. Aside from him being an awesome black character(let's face it, they are a fucking dime a dozen), he is a great complex character that actually deserves a lot more love than he's given. I love his views on justice and I can honestly understand his reasoning's for it, you could even say I agree with it. He had seen justice fail him when the man who killed his friend is allowed to get away unpunished and so he sets off to right the wrongs with his own hands. He wants to be the pacifist his friend was, but he can't because deep down, he still hates the world from taking her away from him. He wants to be justice. His zanpakuto shows that as well. One which represented his friend's, Suzumushi, and one that represented himself, Suzumushi Nishiki, Benihiko. One was a humane ability, while the other was quite savage, showing that Tosen wanted to be the judge, jury and executioner. For the longest time, I thought he had two spirits within him. I thought it would be revealed that he was special in some way that allowed him to do so and I thought during the final parts of the war, it would have been shown that he had a second bankai, since Benihiko had an entirely different activation phrase. While one the subject of his abilities, he was seemed to be quite the genius, being a 5th seat when he achieved bankai. That's something. When he revealed his reasoning for doing what he did, I didn't blame him. He started to love the system that took his friend away from him. It doesn't excuse his actions, but shit, that's something tough to deal with. He's a tragic character that just wanted some justice that went crazy in the process and joined a man who probably promised him what he wanted. He's a great character and one of my favorites. I have more characters, but I'll post them later.
