Yeah, there was only one replacement so the 2014 issues seem to be filling that space with oneshots and extra pages. So I think it's likely that in the next cancellation round we get one more new series than the number of series that end by then.

Highly highly unlikely, but it'd be interesting to see Koi no Cupid, Hachi, Iron Knight, and Beelzebub all end in exchange for 4 new series (or 3 new ones and the return of HxH).

I wouldn't necessarily bet the farm though. Jump tends to only publish works they feel will do well, hence the rigorous serialisation process and junk, yeah? One wonders if there's some sort of lull going on that resulted in this continued lack of new titles. Not that I'm complaining, mind, as it bodes well for the length of ailing serials, but it'd be sad if this meant the overall size of the mag suffered as a long-term result down the line.

I always thought Jump's business strategy was "throw shit against the wall and see what sticks".

It sounds as if Jump picks the series randomly and it is clear that it is not the case. They publish what they think that will make success, a bunch of things are eliminated in the process. The final test is with the public, and we know that the readers are kinda unpredictable. What the editors think that would make success not always pleases the readers, hardly ever I think, there is also a division within the readers themselves. Thinking of all this we see that make a success is tough, very tough.

I don't know why they would think things as bad as Takamagahara or SWOT would be a success.

Well, Takamagahara's oneshot was actually pretty good, but the serialization was just...
It's kinda like what happened with Hungry Joker or Houkago Idol/Himedol, all had good oneshots and the first few chapters were good enough for the editors to serialize them but they couldn't live to the expectations

Seems like the tweet mentions Lady Cool v1 going on sale and Shinpuri being in March issue of SQ, but him returning to WSJ might not be related to either series...not sure

I would have JUMP/Konomi if he works for WSJ and is not Prince of Tennis, making another manga would just take time from Shin Puri, as it is right now is super slow already, I just think Konomi just needs to continue what he is doing, Price of Tennis is after all incredibly succesful.
