How Quilge Opie could absorb hollow reishi?

As we already know, Quincies are week against hollows, so how it's possible that Quilge could with such ease use Ayon hollow powers?

Maybe he isn't actually a hollow, he's just some kind of creature that those arrancar formed out of pure reishi.

Or it's because he's stripping down Ayon and stealing the pure reishi while filtering out the hollow part, while the bankai they stole but are using purely as the bankai should be.

I guess there's some kind of distinction between Sklaverei and the medallions. Whereas the medallions form some kind of connection between the user and the stolen Bnakai, since BG9 was affected by the Hollowfication without even using the Bankai, Sklaverei is just breaking down matter and wrapping it around the user.

I don't really think you can filter out Hollow part, since Ayon entirely consists of Tres Bestias' existence.

This makes more sense. The issue with the medallion is probably the link it establishes between the medallion user and target, since Quincy don't necessarily steal the manifested Bankai with the medallions. They gather the ability to manifest the Bankai through the medallion link. Sklaverei is particle-level absorption, so, it probably has a way different working mechanism.

Re: How Quilge Opie could absorb hollow reishi?

I think there are many angles to tackle this one from. The first is that as far as we can tell "reishi" does not have inherent properties pertaining to any type of soul. Reishi is as far as the manga has told us a fundamental atom so to speak, it is the stuff all spirit things are made out of. So by breaking down allon to reishi he would naturally loose whatever made him a hollow. Imagine taking a gold atom and breaking it down to individual neutrons, protons and electrons... Its not gold anymore. The other issue is the context within which hollows affect quincy. Its not just about there being an inherent risk in absorbing their power because the manga would not make sense at all if there was even a chance of that happening (unless the quincy also break down stuff to reishi before absorbing it even if it is reiatsu). If absorbing a hollow's reiatsu was dangerous for quincy then the notion of a quincy surviving in HM even for a second is absurd considering the place should be infested with hollow reiatsu. So the thing here is not about ordinary hollow powers being detrimental to quincy, it pertains to their souls. I still think the main issue is about a hollow infecting a quincy in a similar manner in which fullbringers are made.

I sense a minor plot hole here... it could at least be explained by Sklaverei having an advanced mechanism that converts specific reishi -> some fundamental reishi -> specific reishi again. Maybe.

Reishi is reishi, since when Kubo ever said there's types of Reishi ?
