Just wanted to boast that finally I beat Ancient Dragon for the first time since I finished this game. Yeah, I know I sucks, but damn.. perseverance and patience get rewarded in this game.

Just want to talk about the latest update.

Holy shit Cleric/FTH build went from being the most OP classes/stats in the game to be one of the shittiest. Honestly I don't see any reason to play Cleric from the start anymore after huge nerfs to Lightning Spear and Great Lightning Spear. This patch just makes sorcerer becomes more desirable imho. Hexes's nerf isn't that bad, but still the nerf is slightly more than necessary.

The good news is, my melee character becomes stronger now.

Also the entrance to the new area looks pretty cool. Cannot wait for July 22nd.

Yeah, my worry is pretty much proven after did some testings. Pure FTH build is going to be almost completely useless, unless you want to play a Hex build. I think the numbers will be adjusted again in the near future though, because right now FTH is just terrible. That's not the right way to nerf Great Lightning Spear .

Time to re-spec my FTH character.

Oh by the way /dsg/ has some cool screenshots on new weapons and armors in the DLC, I won't post it here because it's too spoilery.

You might need to be a Dunkey fan, but I had a good laugh

Started this and it kind of looks similar to Skyrim, tho the level of interaction is lower it does bring in more mind tasks and mystery to the game. I think getting through in the game is difficult and that in itself is interesting. Even figuring the right way to go is sometimes tricky, while in Skyrim it's kind of easier to progress.

    You're playing the first game?

2nd, got a lot of hype. No idea if first is needed to follow the story?

No, it's a different story. I think it's set thousands of years in the past, compared to the second game. Not sure about plot tie-ins though.

So far it's pretty open world, story might be more important later on. Tho as sometimes I play sequels I might be checking out the first one. Same with Bioshock. Don't want to be underwhealmed tho.

The story and lore is there, but it isn't as present in other RPGs. There's a youtuber who gets into it more. I think I prefer the lore of the first game overall.

If anything the first game is more challenging and less accessible, supposedly. And graphically there isn't much difference, unless you're talking about the PC versions.

Wow that youtube channel just made me like the game more. xD Thanks for that, I like watching game reviews and story explanations.

I like easy games at first but they tend to bore me, so far repeating a mission in Dark Souls has been a bit of a bore but it's more exciting and rewarding once it's finished, swordplay is not as easy as stamina and health are drained fast.

Short review of the DLC : 9/10, would play again.

If you're looking for the story in DS 2, trust me, you'll be disappointed. The story is just isn't as memorable as the first one. The mechanics are better in the sequel though, more fluid combats etc. By the way, how much Soul Memory do you currently have? are you playing in PC version?

Git gud or just summon people

Old video on Dark Souls's Lore

It has a lot of in jokes though so I'd understand if many people don't understand it.

Defeated them in my 5th try or something, lol. Thanks Solaire!

I also defeated Gary's demon in 8 tries or so (half of them, instant 1 shots lmao). He wasn't that hard, once I figured the fcker's moves I killed him rather easily.

Now I'm in that painting world.

He's very useful in separating those two. By the way did you try using pyromancy and wearing Elite Knight set? It could solve your problem too, IMHO.

    What is Gary's demon?

The boss in that area is Kawaii
