Re: Summer 2014 Anime Preview Guide

At first glance I have two anime to watch this season

Sword Art Online II : Phantom Bullet
    Ao Haru Ride

SAO is one of the my favorites series and Ao Haru Ride is called "the best shoujo", I'm curious about this.
I will have to pick less series that season, maybe I will pick just one more. XD

Re: Summer 2014 Anime Preview Guide

    My list:
    1. Aldnoah
    2. Ao Haru Ride
    3. Free
    4. Locodol
    5. Nozaki-kun
    6. Glasslip
    7. Jinsei
    8. Kan Colle
    9. Shirogane no Ishi: Argevollen
    10. SAO II
    11. Tokyo ESP
    12. Tokyo Ghoul
    13. Zankyou no Terror
I'm most excited for Nozaki-kun (new Dogakobo comedy, always must watch), Glasslip (new P.A. Works coming of age story, always must watch), Free 2, and Ao Haru Ride. I may try watching the canon (first 15 episodes) parts of Kuroshitsuji. If I like, i will watch the new season. I'd also like to try the first season of Yama no Susume before the season starts. They are shorts, but I heard that they were good.

    My list

    Aldnoah Zero
    DRAMAtical Murder
    Free! 2nd Season
    Glasslip
    Love Stage!!
    Sengoku Basara: Judge End
Sword Art Online II: Phantom Bullet
    Tokyo Ghoul
    Zankyou no Terror

Most excited for Free!, DRAMAtical Murder (though why no Boy's Love part of the genre), and Love Stage!!.

No new LN's magic series that seem excited unveiled so looks like two cour spring series will remain on my watching plan.

Re: Summer 2014 Anime Preview Guide

Wow. Looks like I'm finally picking up some sequels for once:

    Sengoku Basara
    Free!
    Space Dandy

    Also adding into the mix:

    Ao Haru Ride
    Aldnoah Zero
    Zankyou no Terror
    Tokyo Ghoul
    Shirogane no Ishi
    DRAMAtical Murder
    Glasslip
    Tokyo ESP

Himegoto looks interesting to me, so will probably check that out too. Not my typical kind of series, though.

Looks like sci-fi, mecha, thriller, action, and supernatural are big this summer. Goodbye social life.

At first glance, I can catch up with SAO and Yama no Susume first seasons, then add Rokujouma no Shinryakusha!?, Zankyou no Terror, KanColle and Glasslip on top of that. Will look into them more as the time approaches, though.

Ao Haru Ride appears to have a good animation, let's see more of it in the future.

Re: Summer 2014 Anime Preview Guide

Excluding my bias of DMMD and Love Stage, Aldnoah Zero looks to be the most exciting anime for this summer. I hope these pvs and cms keep on coming as it looks better and better each time.

Hopefully its stays good all the way through, that Urobochi person, at least in every anime Ive seen that had his name associated with it, always ended up falling apart to me by the end of the run even if it showed much promise. I guess, it just never managed to go from being entertaining to becoming a must buy.

After episode 3 of madoka it just felt like it was dragging aimlessly until episode 11 and then it just feel off again. It would have made for a good 1hr30min type feature experience but a whole season of anime was not good. Fate/Zero spent too much time meandering and building up to noting that it felt like a really wordy endeavour, it was pretty but content wise lacking. Psycho Pass tried to be smart and witty (like Makishimas numerous dialogues, or even that one in which he connects more with writing on paper than electronically) but on another front it was also just another visual showcase not really leaving much in the way of being a good narrative.

Well, judging by your view, I think you simply didn't like the anime, not that they fell apart in the closing stages. To me, F/Z, Madoka and Psycho Pass are all somewhat consistent as far as storytelling goes. This coming from me should be objective, since I didn't like Madoka as an anime, and I didn't like the way Psycho Pass ended, but I doubt it had anything to do with the means of narration.
