This coming from me should be objective, since I didn't like Madoka as an anime, and I didn't like the way Psycho Pass ended, but I doubt it had anything to do with the means of narration.
Madoka was interesting for the first three episodes, like it was told in a sort of conclusive and focused manner, there seemed like a shift after it in story. I dont think it was that I liked it or not, I watched it twice through and it seemed that way both times.

Re: Summer 2014 Anime Preview Guide

Well, after looking at the preview chart I see very few series that seem appealling, at least acording t my tastes.

So, my first list will be:

    1. Sengoku Basara

    2. Glasslip

These two shows are the ones that I'm most excited about.

    3. Dramatical Murder

    4. Ao Haru Riddle

Possible shows I could watch. The premises sound interesting.

    5. Bakumatsu Rock.

And this one, because something light doesn't hurt anybody ^^

Let's meet up in the New World! Oh, ok, but I'm the one who's gonna find One Piece! Hi hi hi!

I'm not sure if you already knew, but Dramatical Murder is Boy's Love. It's not like Naruto or Kurobas, mainstream series popular with fujoshi. It's the real thing, adapting a BL visual novel.

Im curious how BL it will be or if they will try to strip as much as possible from it, hoping it goes for an authentic and intense experience personally.

Rail Wars looks like it could actually be fun, that pv really did a good job selling it. Just need to hear their voices.

Nothing that catched my attention by the images (didn't read the sinopses), but there are a lot of OVAs/OADs worth of watching. Inari, Kyoukai no Kanata, Noragami, Non Non Biyori are my list.

Nozaki-kun is my most anticipated. New Dogakobo comedy
Overall a pretty interesting looking line up. I'm also excited for Ao Haru Ride, Hanayamata, Kan Colle, and Glasslip.

Re: Summer 2014 Anime Preview Guide

    My Full list:
    1. Aldnoah Zero
    2. Ao Haru Ride
    3. Free Second Season
    4. Locodol
    5. Nozaki-kun
    6. Glasslip
    7. Hanayamata
    8. Jinsei
    9. Kancolle
    10. Magimoji Rurumo
    11. Rokujyouma no Shinryakusha!?
    12. Shirogane no Ishi: Argevollen
    13. SAO II
    14. Tokyo Ghoul
    15. Tokyo ESP
    16. Zankyou no Terror
    Ongoing Shows:
    1. Captain Earth
    2. Diamond Ace
    3. Haikyuu
    4. JoJo's
    5. M3
    6. Mahouka
I am going to try and watch season one of Yama no Susume and the canon episodes of Kuroshitsuji before the season starts. I'd like to watch the new seasons of both. I'm still undecided about Sabagebu!, Rail Wars, and Blade Dance. I probably will try all three, but I'm not sure yet.

Hanayamata has potential to be this summer's Non Non Biyori or Gochiusa, a funny, relaxing, enjoyably quirky comedy.

Re: Summer 2014 Anime Preview Guide

AHR is on such a roll lately, getting both anime adaptation and live action adaptation at the same time. I'm mostly worried about the plot. I guess it's a given for them to be different since the manga is still on going. Glad to know Hamatora's second season is coming soon as I've just managed to finish the first season today, lol. So late indeed. I'm kind of disappointed to see Psycho-Pass getting an edited version instead of season 2, haha. Not sure what bonus content we'll get but I'm too lazy to re-watch it again, especially now that it's going to last for an hour.

From all titles, I agree so far Aldnoah Zero sounds and looks most promising. To me the series mentioned together like Madoka, F/Z, Psycho-Pass, and Gargantia are all interesting. I can see why they can be boring and confusing sometimes. I felt the same too while watching them, but then as the plot progressed I thought the ends are tied quite nicely. There are loose ends indeed, but those don't really strike me as weaknesses but instead as points which make you think deeper about few things. Madoka and PP especially do well in that area, in my opinion.

I'm planning to check Sailor Moon Crystal without doubt, SAO II. Maybe Zankyou no Terror and Hanayamata too, we'll see.
