    TAS movies

I was curious if anyone here knows TAS movies? Probably the first and best known example was that Super Mario Bros 3 run finished in like 11 minutes, but there are tons of them now. I get mine from http://tasvideos.org/ , if anyone is interested and hasn't seen it yet, try the Super Mario 64 all 120 stars one sometime. I got absolutely blown away by that one. The Ocarina of Time ones are fun too.

For those that don't know, TAS stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun and means you use tools to overcome human limits such as reaction time (by slowing the game down until you can perform something flawlessly). It's about entertainment, mostly provided by the absolutely ridiculous speed and actions they can pull because of these tools. If it sounds interesting to you, a good one to get an idea of what it is is Super Mario 64 without any stars in 5 minutes something (http://tasvideos.org/1197M.html).

Personally, I find TAS runs rather crummy...

Sure, they look amazing, but half the moves they do are impossible to pull off in concession... I'd rather watch a legitimate run... but thats my own personal opinion...

I don't think like that when I watch one, helps a lot with enjoying it Some movies really go overboard and then you just have to think "yeah right", but most that I see are just right, where it does look like it might be possible when one tries it over 60k times.

I don't like TAS. The people who really know how to do certain speed runs really used the the bugs in the game.
A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk...I have a workstation.
