In the Marine Headquarters:

Once a legendary man escaped. I'll be guarding the insurmountable wall called Impel Down to the very end. Fly a bit more... “You are the hero of the Marine or what they call you. Level 3 at the Sphinx:
The Prisoners at Level 3 all have a bounty of 50 million or more. A lot of dangerous criminals.
Heat, water and food rise up from the “Fire-Hell” below. [Tn: no sense?]
There almost no torture here. The prisoners are almost dead already anyway. The Level is also called “Famine-Hell”
Luffy says he wants to move forward to lvl 4 fast.

Buggy, Mr. 3, Luffy and the Sphinx are easily captured with a big seastone web.

Prison guard director Saldeath appears.
Luffy however understands “Sarudesu”. (“I'm a monkey”) Misunderstanding is cleared up after a while.
Below lvl 3 there are four Guardian-Beasts waiting.

The Sphinx wakes up and rages. She destroys the web.
There is a fight Luffy vs. Sphinx & Blugori & soldiers.
Buggy and Mr. 3 climb out of the web at the top and run away. Luffy goes down another stairway and continues searching.

Some clarifycations by archanfel on Arlong Park:

1. There's no mention of Jimbei whatsoever in this chapter, and just to think about it, Buggy beating Jimbei makes no sense at all. I'm willing to bet it's a mistake on the other guy's part, so might wanna take that out of the first post.

2. Sengoku is getting a notice of Luffy and says sth along the line of: "...this kid...these seem to be leading somewhere, first the Enies Lobby, then the Tenryobito(sp) Incident, and now he's breaking into Impel Down..."

3. Sengoku mentioned that ID has been impenetrable EXCEPT once, when the Flying Pirate "Golden Lion" escaped 20 years ago. This is clearly marketing for the upcoming movie 10.

4. Level 3 is the "Famine Hell" where the prisoners suffer from starvation and thirst constantly, ppl here have 50 million+ bounty; Level 4 is the "Burning Hell" where, one can safely guess, prisoners suffer from flaming heat.

5. Back to Sengoku and Garp. Garp is apparently already back at the headquater and is laughing hard and proud of his grandson as ever. Sengoku was irritated enough to tell him that "If not for the fact that you're a 'Hero of the Marine', you'd be held responsible for all these actions of your entire family(refering to Luffy and Ace)!" Then Garp retaliated by saying "hahaha, at a age like this, you think I care if you really gonna take this old head of mine?" Words are missing, but from what we have I believe that's what he said. Though I doubt they're being truly serious with each other, just more trash talk between old colleagues.

She then raises the bridge, cutting Impel Down off so no one can enter or leave.
The marines see a massive Coala bear behind her as she closes the gates.

Hancock uses her charm to create chaos at Lv5 while interviewing Ace.
The aroused prisoners yell GIVE US HANCOCK, Magellan uses his poison fruit power to create poison dragons called Hydras to attack them.
Magellan: Remember, I have both the authority and Power to execute all of you at any time!!
While all this ruckus is going on, Hancock tells Ace and Jinbei about Luffy. Magellan and Hannyabal does not hear about this.

Bon-Clay disguised as Zoro kicks the Sphinx off Luffy, and joins him in defeating the Sphinx and the guards.
