Sweaty Help a person with his research (WSJ related)

    Hello there,

I'm currently working on an essay about the Weekly Shonen Jump for my homepage. Although there are a hand full of helpful pages (such as the english&japanese Wikipedia entry, jumpland..etc) exsting there are some topics I can't find any good information about.

So I'd wanted to get help from any of you guys who's willing to share his knowledge with me!

There are two major aspects I'm interested in (for now):
Firstly, just how many international adaptions of "Jump" are there? Wikipedia articles in all different languages state different things. Of course I know about US Jump and German "BANZAI!", then I've read that there are also versions in Sweden and Norway...well, no problem until now.
But this is where it gets tricky. Japanese Wikipedia also lists "Taiwan" as a country and so do the Spains with "Brazil" in their version of the article...
So question no. 1 would be:
Who knows anything about the International Versions of Jump especially as to how things are when it comes to other Asian countries such as Hong Kong, South Korea, or Taiwan? (Plus who knows something about the situation in Latin America?)

    The other story is:
Jumpland lists short info on Newcomer Awards such as Jump Treasure as well as Sutokin/Garikyon Fire...anybody got more info how things work in these competitions? (Because they just lose like 50 words on this topic...so you can't really work with it^^")
The other competition I'm interested in is the "Gold Future Cup" - can't find any useful information on that... ~_~ *sigh*

It would be really awesome if anybody could help me here!!
Alternative links to websites are welcome - English/German language is first choice. Japanese and French are both so-so...therefore I'd be better if you drop me a line or two where you tell me the general idea behind it in English. XD"

    Thank you in advance,
    Prince-kun

Ok, here's what I know about the Chinese Speaking Countries:

    1. Taiwan: Taiwan's magazine is not called Jump, but 寶島少年, which can be translated as "Formosa Youth". It does serialize some of the Jump series, but not entirely.

    2. Hong Kong: Similar to Taiwan, they have a weekly magazine called "Exam" for some WSJ serializations.

    3. China: No known "legal" weekly magazine. In the process of begin publishing legal tanks.

    4. Singapore: No weekly magazines to my knowledge... but they do have their own Chinese localized tanks.

As for the competition... from my understanding, there are some that accepts all kinds of work, while some only accepts Gag-themed or Yonkoma. I'm not sure about the details though (I'm more familar with the Shoujo ones from Hakusensha)

    EDIT: Correction on HK.

Thank you Finestela, that helps a lot!!

I hope there'll be a person who can tell me more about the competitions, since that's a vital part of my article...

Anyway: Thanks for now : )
