Then someone needs to thwap it on it's nose for peeing on Trau and mangling Hyde.

Just read Magi, and it looks like Original DB with an arabian backdrop. (Although OGDB was influenced by a lot of things.) I try not to judge series based on their first chapters, because a lot goes into the beginings to keep interest, so I'm gonna wait to form an opinion on it. It does look if anything to be a solid adventure series. (I'm not gonna translate it though :-P I still have eyes for Lindbergh if no one does it.)

Depends really, I'm already kind of over taxing myself as is. >_< I hate to look like a wuss and drop something.....Especially since all of the series I do have no other translator, and if I give up on them, they may turn to a life of crime...er I mean not get scantlated....I'm gonna wait a bit on Lindbergh. If there aren't ANY efforts to translate it, I may just make a poll or something to get a general consensious on what people wouldn't mind me letting go. (There are three series out of my current workload I want to drop, and one will surprise the hell out of you....trust me.) But I translate cause I want people to enjoy series they wouldn't be able to otherwise...so I appreciate input.

Not what? O_o lol I AM interested in it, I just have too much to do as is. I need to drop at least two series before I can even CONSIDER it.

    See, that part I understand

Looking through the raws here can feel like shopping on a budget; I want this one, and this one, and that one, and those but I can only afford that.

LOL. Nice analogy. Yeah it IS kind of like that. I sort of want to do Magi, but after being burned on Trau and Hyde, I can't trust Shogakukan anymore. >_> Eeeeeeh I dunno....I should just stick with what I have...although again there are three series I'm considering putting on the wayside.....

Something about Magi (the raws at least) rubbed me the wrong way. Can't say what, I'm just not overwhelmed by any desire to read it. I doubt it will be canceled quickly; it's by an established, if not famous, mangaka. A mangaka that defected from another publisher at that. They'll give Magi every chance to be a hit.

With translations I can just say stick with anything you enjoy, if there's something your working on out of a sense of duty, it's probably not worth continuing.

Again it looks to be an unremarkable adventure series...which is probably why you feel that way, and yeah I agree...I don't see it sinking anytime soon because it has so much going for it. It helps again that it is very similar to OGDB.

As for translations, I sort of want to drop Albatross, Aku and....*drumroll* Gintama. More after your reactions! :-P

GINTAMA!! How could anyone but you translate Gintama!! /shock and disbelief.

Don't let me be the one to dissuade you; if your not interested don't keep doing it for the leechers. I love Gintama too, but I dropped it.

What really bothers me about Magi is the mangaka. Sumomowhatever was not a well written manga IMO.

I'm not really burnt out on Sunday yet, isn't nearly the first time this kinda thing's happened and I was in to them well before Trau and Hyde.

Though I'm getting bored with the mediocre-new-series-by-established-author trend.

I'll always enjoy Hayate and Kekkaishi, other then that there's nothing I feel compelled to read the second a new chapter is released.

Eh, I realize that I'm getting too paranoid with translation for that series.(Even doubly so now that Binktopia's picked it up...which means EVERYONE will be reading the scans and more importantly my translations now. For Hyde and the other series I do, I'm not nearly as paranoid...I can spend 4 hours after a completed Gintama lesson just freaking out over whether this or that is wrong.) And I actually dread the amount of text that the gag chapters have. My love for the series hasn't gone anywhere though, so that's why its a real grapple to whether I should drop it or not. Either way I still love Gintama to pieces.

Back on topic, I don't really like Hayate...but Kekkaishi's always good. I do like Acro enough to want to see it succeed, and although Aku is on my drop list, It is a genuinely charming manga. I just hope that they give Nakayama and other artists who got the cut another chance somewhere...sometime..

Re: Weekly Shounen Sunday (Shounen Mag by Shogakukan)

Onidere, Ocha, and Kongoh are the 3 I look forward reading in WSS.
Hayate and Aku are the two I'd read, but would be ok if I skip it for a few issues.

I'm ignoring the rest for the most part

I might follow Magi consistenly though, just because I enjoyed Sumomo back then, and the first chapter was fun enough to be enjoyable
