    Re: Sunday TOC Talkback

I keep meaning to read SNM it looks really good. Hopefully chapter 2 will come out soon. There's two new series coming this week (I think), hopefully someone will translate them. At the least the art looks interesting for both:

    Keeper:

    Painter of Dark Night:

MIXIM also got picked up right away, but I really didn't like it much. But then I never liked Flame of Recca or MARS.

I remember Painter of Dark Night is the one-shot this week. Doesn't look bad from the pic at least.

I loved MAR i haven't read FoR yet but MIXIM felt soooooooooooooooooooo random but i think it's getting a plot in latest chapters (It went from MixIm 12 to MixIm 11 and when it hit 11 it started getting a plot lol.)

It is no where as good as MAR imo.

    Cool thanks for the info

Awesome ^^ It's nice to see this thread taking off. Truthfully Ataru and Myself thought this thing would tank, but there ARE sunday readers out there!

I want to translate Traumeister and Acro, but I'd need raws....If this thread gets more popular, hopefully scanners will come out of the woodwork. Sunday needs more attention...

    Re: Sunday TOC Talkback

Yakitate Japan will always be one of my favorite manga.

And Sunday just proves that Jump are the Republicans of the Shonen world....

I think that'd make Sunday the Democrats. Let's call WSM the...Wiggs.

Oh and Lol@Lost+Brain. It was a Death Note ripoff that they recently published. Basically take Death Note and take everything that was good about it and take it away. Then you have lost Brain. And it tanked. Not one bit surprised. XD

    Re: Sunday TOC Talkback

Inuyasha also. It started getting more and more ridiculous after the Abi - hime arc, I ended up dropping it last December. I'm still a mod and regular at Freelance Manga though.

The only SS comics I'm currently reading are Hayate no Gotoku and The World God Only Knows. I haven't been keeping up with the flood of Hayate scans since Musashi do such a great job. I've fallen way behind on Kekkaishi, having last read it when it had a gorrible web presence. One of my next projects is catching back up, it's a great series.

    Re: Sunday TOC Talkback

Considering the big Rumiko Takahashi prescence back in the mid-late 1990s, Sunday was the first shonen stuff I was exposed to. First manga from it I read was Ranma 1/2, but I was collecting the Urusei Yatsura anime around the same time I first came across Jump anime (with, what else, DBZ). First Japanese manga I ever collected was also Sunday: Ghost Sweeper Mikami (sort of stopped due to not really following along after a point but I still hope to translate it). Was a huge Gash Bell fan during it's run and have also collected Midori no Hibi and MAR. (yet haven't found time to read either) I even read Aikora for a while...though that's sort of mixed up with me. Currently I'm not really reading anything current in Sunday...but I am starting to collect Flame of Recca after reading a bit of it online and realizing I didn't want to rip off Viz for bringing it out legitimately.

    Can we say MAJOR changes?

    Is Cross-game having part 3?

Okay here is the differences between issues --

    ----------------------------------

    -Hirano Aya (cover page) *unranked*
-The World Only God Knows (color page) *unranked*
    -Kekkaishi *same*
    -MAJOR *up 1*
    -Kenichi *down 3*
    -Conan *down 2*
    -Hayate *same*
    -Gekkou Jorei *not ranked?*
    -Saijou no Meii *down 3*
    -Ocha ni Gosu *up 5*
    -MIXIM *down 2*
    -Mitsuboshi *up 6*
    -Obou *up 10*
-Cross Game (color page, end of pt. 2) *down 13*
-Traumaister (color page) *down 5* (15)
    -Kongo *down 2*
    -ZKC *down 8*
    -Acro *Down 6*
    -King Golf *down 2*
    -Darren Shan *un ranked*
    -Onidere *unranked?*
    -Fujimi Chuuihou (one-shot) *unranked*
    -Aoizakura *down 12*
    -Golden Age *down 2*
    -Hyde & Closer *down 6*
-My Sweet Sunday (50th anniversary specials): Masami Yuuki, Haruki Mizuguchi

Why was everything in the magazine DOWN? the only thing that stayed the same was Kk.

why is H&C at the BOTTOM

Anyways looking forward to the new Yuu Watase series, I am betting that will be a fast scanlated series

    Re: Sunday TOC Talkback

Ah Hyde's on the bottom because the three series that buffer it are gone, and there were a bunch of one shots. Gamble, Maoh and Ifrit usually kept it boosted, but one ended already while two are on break this week. I wouldn't call it quits though, as Sunday keeps things in the magazine even when they're at the bottom for a long time. Although Hyde seems to be coming towards a conclusion...

As for the issue itself, not surprising that Aya's on the cover as she does Kaoru's voice on ZKC. Again a few one shots are what's really gunking up things, along with a few series being on break. I'm hoping that Hyde gets a reasonable conclusion, and that someone scans Traumiester....I really want to see what that's about...

    Re: Sunday TOC Talkback

I was a bit shocked regarding how high stuff like Obou Samba and Mitsuboshi were after being so low last week. However I've discovered that there is a weird tier system that exists in this magazine too rather quickly. And it's not as complicated as WSJ:
-The "Big Five" (Kekkaishi, MAJOR, Conan, Kenichi, Hayate)
    -Everything Else

Oh, and I really don't see Cross Game as lower since it had a cover last time so it really didn't count...as for whether or not it has a pt. 3...well it depends on if it's ending or not since next week does seem to have a new series by Yuu Watase? (the Fushigi Yuugi mangaka doing shonen...this should be interesting)
