Lol, see this is why i stopped posting here , I didn't have time to be super active and reading all of these series, now i came back and i am attempting to read as many series as i can and keep adding more so that i can discuss them -.-.Quote:
I think if anything this thread has really peaked my interest in SS.
so i am guessing it won't live long enough to become a true Rival to Reborn! :P lol that was what i was hoping would happen with the series when i read the first chapter raw lol.Quote:
I always figured that Sunday's arrangement of series don't always reflect the way the series are doing. ZKC was consistently at the bottom last year and now this year with its anime, it's in the middle.
Also, more mature series are sometimes in the back, like Wild Life was.
And Cross Game is definitely a top series as many people are fans of Adachi and his series since the 70's. He's the longest working author on the magazine I believe.
Alata Kangatari ~Engaku Kougatari~ (Couv & Page Couleur)
Hayate no Gotoku!
The World Only God Knows
Saijô no Meii
Maoh (Page Couleur)
Ocha ni Gosu
Hyde & Closer
Absent : Zettai Karen Children, Detective Conan
Darren Shan (Couv & Page Couleur)
Saijô no Meii, Acro (Page Couleur)
Absent : Banchô
I really like that TOC, I would have liked Mixim and Hyde to be a little higher but over all i like that.
Glad SNM is getting a color page and Darren is getting cover .
I am looking forward to seeing what Alata Kangatari ~Engaku Kougatari~ is and how it does in the magazine.
It's Arata Kangatari - I've got the english spelling right in front of me ^_-
I'm really debating scanning this one but I'm going to wait to see if it pops up on RSF right away first. A prominent shojo mangaka doing shonen is going to draw a crowd and expectation. It's going to be one of the series that lasts for sure~
I hope you do! It's something I'd really like to read.
It really is rare for a shoujo mangaka to "switch sides" (the only example I know of for sure is Mizuki Kawashita...as opposed to female mangaka who just do shonen from day one like Rumiko Takahashi or Katsura Hoshino), but Watase is pretty much one of the most well known shoujo authors on both sides of the Pacific so somehow I imagine this series catching on quickly.
It's either intentional or coincidental but doesn't this heroine remind me of a fusion of Usagi from Sailor Moon and Miaka from Fusigi Yuugi? (Yeah I know it's Watase but still...must be coincidence)
It's coincidental I'm sure. Once a mangaka's been around as long as Yuu - sensei they start repeating character designs. At least it's not as blatant as Rumiko Takahashi >.<
lol! I forgot about Adachi. Your right, everything he draws looks identical to Touch.
oh thanks to ritual scan - I found the raw on their page
Can someone pm me a mediafire link? Because I can't use MU
anyway I support this topic: don't know a lot of SS series but imo this magazine is really more worth (I really love eg: konjiki no gash - ended but buying the french volumes)
I can't use MU as well -.-.
Anyways on topic of Mangaka's reusing character design, I have noticed that alot, Obata who is doing Bakuman, alot of those characters are just people from Death note / Blue dragon (ROG) with different hair.
Or the mangaka of Ichigo 100% and that other series that i obviously didn't pay attention to lol. That mangaka keeps reusing the same characters over and over.
