Kurozuka by Yumemakura Baku & Noguchi Takashi
Since the anime starts next week, let's make this a little more known here at MH
Title: Kurozuka (黒塚-KUROZUKA-) Authored byYumemakura Baku (author) and Noguchi Takashi (artist) Serialized inSuper Jump (Shueisha) (2003-2006) Genre:Seinen, Action, Adventure, Horror (a little), Mature, Sci-fi/Historical (time journey), Supernatural, Adult Japanese Release: 10 Volumes (complete) Scanlation: complete Age Ranking: Mature - contains heavy violence, gore and full frontal nudity
Summmary taken from ANN and MU: "The manga itself adapts Baku Yumemakura's supernatural romance novel about a 12th-century man named Minamoto no Yoshitsune (Kurou). Kurou flees into the mountains after losing to his brother Minamoto no Yoritomo - the first Shogun to rule all of Japan. History records that he committed suicide, but instead, Kurou meets a strange, beautiful woman named Kuromitsu in her mountain hermitage. Eventually, Kurou falls in love with Kuromitsu, but then realizes she conceals a dark secret. He learns that he is unable to die and continues to live for a thousand years as Japan evolves into a future society.
The majority of this story takes place a few centuries into the future where Kurou is separated from Kuromitsu and without memories. He then searches for answers to who is and why he does not die and who was the women he is so transfixed upon. "
Note by eni:
The story can be very confusing. It hops a lot from one time to another, between reality and dream. But the end is solid and explains what happened clearly. Also the artwork is superb. While not everyone will like the character design, the awesome backgrounds alone are a reason to read this manga.
Just one thing: Please take the warnings (violent/gore/nudity) serious. This is no manga for a younger audience.

WOAH!! sounds... promising...
i`m always up for something like this, thanks for letting us know!! be sure to check the anime, too!!
"War... Revenge... Maybe that's enough reason I'm all alone, I think. Fofr now. And withi me is the black berserker rage... And only that... Will keep me on my feet. As I head towards you... Pressing on." --> Guts from the manga BERSERK...
Re: Kurozuka by Yumemakura Baku & Noguchi Takashi (v10)
o.k. now that I had time to read through the whole thing I have to say it's not as hard to understand once you get over the first time skips and up to volume 6 or 7 it was a really good read.
perhaps you already wait for it so here it is: the big BUT!
like circol already said the ending is really bugging. I think for me it was from when they almost all accumulated in the white tower and then goes on over how the judas kiss (if I interpreted that right) was integrated to the point of the more than open ending that left some questions unanswered (the white king survived? again? ).
oh well, next is watching the anime and to end this post let me ask something: do you (too ^^) think it could be stuff for a "real" movie ?
