CASSHERN SINS

a remake of an oldie anime...

Casshern Sins tells the story of a world where robots subjugated humanity after becoming self-aware. Their leader, Braiking Boss, rules over the world with an iron fist. One day, a mysterious girl named Luna is summoned by the people for salvation of mankind[5] . Fearing that she can be a potential threat, Braiking sends three of his most powerful cyborg warriors to dispose of Luna: Casshern, Dio and Reda. Casshern, the strongest warrior, manages to track down and kill Luna. This triggers a cataclysmic event which brings about the end of the world. Hundreds of years later, the world's atmosphere now filled with poison, humanity is in danger of extinction, from most of the remaining population's inability to reproduce, and the threat of the robots.

Opening Theme:

Ending Theme:

great animation and artwork, excellent job by voice actors/actresses [casshern's VA = who did Amuro Ray, Pegasus Seiya (heck, casshern without his helmet looks just like Seiya)]... and a bit of nostalgia.... that's a really nice combo for me


damn, how old was i again, when i watched casshern original? 5? i can't even remember whether i watched it on vhs/beta or on the tv prorgamme... gosh..wonder if they're gonna remake Polymar

I watched the first Episode earlier today, and I personally think that Madhouse was the perfect choice for this project. It's good to see that they decided to reboot a franchise of the caliber of Casshern (or Casshan as I pleasantly remember him), and I'm glad that It's not based on the movie. ^_^

The live-action Movie?? yeah, i'm glad it's not based on the movie too.

... that live action movie has a quite pretty special effect... but storywise, it's a bit too hurried... i guess that's what you get for a 141-minute movie

i hope we can see Casshern's dog in the second ep

is this series even based on the manga? well, i should say, where in the manga is it starting? because it looks like it's after the war, after he defeated ...burai, was it, so it's almost like a prologue? or did i completely misunderstand the first ep?

Which manga, Shrimpy? There are at least three manga, two modern adaptions and the original manga were the 1973 anime is based on. The plot from the 2008 anime was already changed a little compared to the 70ies version. The manga - regardless of the year - are probably all a little different as well.

which manga, indeed. I have no idea.
I recently got to watch the 'ol '94 episodes with the not-so-ending.

I do like where this one is headed--the whole robot-morality thing in tow--but I guess it doesn't follow whatever the old ova was based on, unless it's like a time skip and we'll learn what happened after cass started having memory lapses (kinda like lost control?)

in any case, the art will keep me watching no matter what.

just about completely off topic but Tatsunoko vs capcom is the fighter of the century, seriously. It's practically gonna be the marvel vs capcom for all of asia...so many old series, and tons more i don't even know about. it's gonna be sweet!

I'm liking the series so far after watching Episode 2 -- I find it interesting how they've brought a new layer of thought to such an old concept, dealing with how machines deal with emotions. Very thought provoking.
