    Re: Best Dubbed Anime?

my vote goes to Cromartie High

the way it delivers jokes makes it seem like it was made for english
it also makes all other animes hilarious when they're dubbed, imagining it in the cro style

    Re: Best Dubbed Anime?

The only dub I have ever heard that beat the original japanese VA's was goldenboy.
It's so hilarous, I don't even know where to begin.

The majority of english va's are canadian, and many more are monotone.
there's nothing really out there that can live up to the level of perfection of japanese va's except for the major animated film productions in america like pixar's or disney's older stuff.

    Re: Best Dubbed Anime?

    Best:
Yu Yu Hakusho has an awesome dub, though I also love the Japanese.

Cowboy Bebop is great in both English and Japanese as well.

InuYasha has a pretty good dub, though I prefer the Japanese.

Full Metal Panic! (all) has a really great dub, especially Kaname, Sousuke, and Kurz's voices. Of course Kurz's VA is none other than Vic Mignogna, who did an awesome job as Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist.

Fullmetal Alchemist has a very good dub, but I can only stand to watch FMA until the end of season one, because the entire season two and movie is blasphemous plot massacre to me. Can you tell FMA is my favorite manga?

    WORST:
Flame of Recca's dub is OMG horrible, awful, claw off my ears BAD. I'm talking untalented high school drama club reading the lines cold BAD.

Gravitation's dub is also terrible. None of the voices fit the characters, and they just sound awful.

    Re: Best Dubbed Anime?

FMA is so much better dubbed than subbed.

As already stated Cowboy Beebop and trigun also had very good dubs, but FMA was definitely the best of them.

To me it would have to be Gundam Wing and DBZ worst would be Air Gear and Eureka 7

    Re: Best Dubbed Anime?

I have not watched many english dubbed anime in my life but I found the work made on Lucky Star pretty good.
The cast performed well and the voices matched the original cast.

    Re: Best Dubbed Anime?

I thought the Fullmetal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop dubs were acceptable, still obviously incomparable to subbed or raw. 'Tis a shame that all the One Piece, Bleach and Naruto dubs are so bad, it's poisoning the minds of so many viewers IMO.

    Re: Best Dubbed Anime?

I don't mind Bleach's dubs, most of the cast was very good. I always like Inuyasha's dubs.

I get the FUNimation channel now; the number of bad dubs is astounding. Ouran High School Host Clubs is terrible, Mushishi isn't much better.

    Re: Best Dubbed Anime?

    Negima!?

cause Japan screwed up the South park joke. Also it has a all star cast of almost every women funimation voice actor. Plus it has some of the best script writing I have seen for a show where the fighting seems to get put on the back burner till the last 6 episodes and where jokes and written gags are what makes the show funny.

    Re: Best Dubbed Anime?

Gundam Wing - First anime, and it watching it again the dubs were outstanding I think.

Gundam 08th MS Division - Though it was only 12 episodes I think the dubs were actually really good. Almost on par with the original audio.

Full Metal Alchemist - One of the ONLY two anime I actually prefer the English voice actors over the Japanese.

Cowboy Bebop - The OTHER anime of the two that I prefer the English voice actors of the Japanese.

Outlaw Star - While it wasn't the best, I thought it was far above average. The little kid's (Hawk?) voice is better in English.

    Re: Good Dubbed Anime

I like subs more than dubs, so the majority of anime series I’ve watched have been in Japanese with subs. But, from the couple of dubbed series I have watched, these are my favorite ones because I think the dubbing was really good:

Note: I watched them dubbed in Spanish not in English.

-Ranma ½, Inuyasha, Goal Field Hunter, Samurai Pizza Cats, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Saint Seiya.

I watched Sailor Moon and Pokemon dubbed in English and I think they dubbing was pretty good as well…I also watched Inuyasha in English…but…let’s just say I would rather watch Inuyasha in Japanese or dubbed in Spanish than watching it dubbed in English.
Thank you so much for my cute avy GenjiChan!

    Re: Good Dubbed Anime

I started off watching Inuyasha from dubs. It actually felt a bit weird when I watched the original. But it also felt weird when I watched the dub again!

Having been used to English Pokemon for so long, I don't mind it. Despite our preference for subs, I think Pokemon is the one series where most of us will choose the dub instead. Just an assumption.

    Re: Good Dubbed Anime

I prefer all of my anime to be dubbed, though, I have no issues watching them subbed now.

Almost all the anime I've seen I thought had a nice dub. Nothing grating on the ears. (I'm not the type that compare voices, so I don't care if the dub does not match the original. I'm all about whether that voice fits that character)

The only dubs I've really had issues with were Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece (FUNi. Haven't seen 4kids). Naruto and Bleach were due to dialogue issues. The people they have voicing some of those characters you know can do a lot better than that, while One Piece just felt very bland. People sounded as if they were trying to force it. But seeing that this is good dubs I won't bore you with stuff like that nor will I list all the anime I've seen.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
    Cowboy Bebop
    Samurai Champloo
    Fullmetal Alchemist
Moribito (I need to finish this series)
    Gungrave

Just to name a few that I thought had/have a great dub.

    Re: Good Dubbed Anime

@Phantom: Most of the titles you listed (like Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop etc.) are anime but still have a Western-like feel. If someone lied and told me they were based on a comic book franchise, I wouldn't think much of it. The overall feel might be one reason why their dubs seem natural and are just as good as the original.

    -------
Yu-Gi-Oh's dubbed version is so bad it's good. (It actually is pretty bad so that's why I have this in small font. ^^; )
