First of all happy new year !
I was thinking about a Manga I discovered in a Book Shop 2 years ago, but I never had the chance to see it again. Back then It was just released in France. The title was something like "Syndrome 97" or 87... something like that. It's a little bit in the drama/criminal investigation type. Very intense too.
Here are a few details on the beginning of the story.
Basically the story was about a University Student who was a "no-life". He stayed home all day, basically never took his trash out... Anyway once he decided to go out and noticed a group of girls that were harassing another girl. She was like their slave. And The main character became interested in them... anyway to cut a long story short, he ends up killing the leader of the group and the girl who was harassed by her, even if in the beginning he was supposed to help her. And since then he was on the run... that's basically when I stopped reading.
Can anyone help me find the exact title? Every time I try to google it I only find "Sakuranbo Syndrome" and that's definitely not it !
Thank you for your time.
In manga news database there is only 3 French titles with syndrome. One of them is syndrome 1866, Tsumi to batsu in bakaupdate (not scanlated). I think it can match your description

Looking at Dora-kun's sig, I was reminded of Saint young men. And when I looked it up, it's already 8 volumes in Japan. But scanlation is only up to the third volume. I even thought it was already complete but apparently it's still ongoing?
Anyone here ever read Peepo Choo by Felipe Smith? I got the books after reading a scanned version of the first volume, and it is pretty nuts. Plus the underlying social commentary makes it a lot more deep than you'd think at first.
Ey, I just wanted to invite you to the collective reading of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou. In my sig the links to the respective thread.
anybody read Natsu no Zenjitsu? 17 chapters out so far, and I friggin love this series. Like Honey and Clover but seinen.
I really thought nobody else here read it- given it's some kind of awesome, and nobody seems to react lol. I'll probably be interested if they made an anime of this. But that will be in the far future, when the story has more material.
I read chapter 1 yesterday...
I doubt that there is ever going to be an anime for this. The series is just too low-profile and the release schedule is too irregular, despite "good afternoon" being bi-monthly. Even if Koi Kaze, a different title from the same mangaka, has already been adapted (just noticed that, i knew the art was familiar), that title had more exposure and a controversial topic (a real incest story).
Nevertheless, i really like the manga, especially the dynamic between Tetsuo and Akira (and i somewhat see myself from 2-3 years ago in Tetsuo) and i am always looking forward to a new chapter.
well its like you can forgive the guy for whatever he's thinking because he's an artist. he can getaway with anything, imo. haha
