Don't worry to much about it. The TOC doesn't appear to be based on fan rankings. Look how low Negima and Ippo are, yet both are major hits. Tsubasa is taking the week off but is generally in the same area as Negi. Everything seems to have an assigned section rather then reflecting popularity.

Re: Weekly Shounen Magazine (Shounen Mag by Kodansha)

Are there any soccer mangas currently running in this magazine?

If you know of any soccer manga currently running in another magazine, please let me know.

edit: Well, found out about Area no Kishi... currently downloading... Any other suggestions?

I want series that aren't completed.

Not currently running, I don't think. It's not in Magazine by Giant Killing looks good. No ones ever translated it so I'm just judging by the art ^^

Area no Kishi is the first to come to mind.

I've heard that in Area no Kishi, the players have godly power-ups like in PoT. Is this true?

Well there is only 23 chapters out so far (and I read them all last night )...

Doesn't seem anything out of the ordinary. Except some moves might be exaggerated like "woooow he just did a heel pass" and "woooow he just did an overhead"... but nothing out of the norm that is seen as extraordinary in the real world.

Yeah they did two OVA episodes last year I think. Seems like it runs whenever the artist and writer feels like doing it now, (with good reason since it's not like a series like this can have a natural feeling ending.) Toei sort of does it every so often as well. Still I really enjoy the series (And wish I could find raws for the anime, since the subs only went up to 13.) So it's nice to see it back again.
    Current projects
    Gintama (Weekly)
    Koukushi Musou!! (Weekly)
    Nejimaki Kagyuu (Weekly)
    Kiriwoterrible (Weekly)
    Hitoribocchi no shinrakusha (Monthly)

I knew that Kindachi is essentially now on a "case by case" basis, which means it can run a story yearly and still be "in the magazine". But I guess I didn't know it was still running...besides, wasn't the OVA last year the team-up with Conan?

    Yeah they're pretty good.

I also ave to like the art in a manga otherwise I can't read it... so if I'm reading, it's because it doesn't suck :P

Re: Weekly Shounen Magazine (Shounen Mag by Kodansha)

According to Makoto Raiku (Mangaka of Konjiki no Gash) he says his new manga'll be in some sort of new Kodansha magazine they're making which doesn't have a name yet... A spinoff of Shonen Magazine I guess. Kinda like Jump Square. His starts on the 10th of September.

Also he says he's doing a one-shot, an "episode 0" in Shonen Magazine in order to promote their new magazine.

A new Makoto Raiku manga? I'll be eagerly anticipating it.

I didn't know that he ended up splitting away from Sunday after all but considering the problems he had that wouldn't be surprising.

Wait, will that be a weekly or monthly magazine? Or did they not say?

Re: Weekly Shounen Magazine (Shounen Mag by Kodansha)

Somehow I"m imagining Rival or one of the other Kodansha monthlies. At least it isn't his first time in a monthly/bi-montly magazine. (he did New Town Heroes in one before Gash, I really want to read that series for some reason I guess)
