I checked it. Can't judge it since I don't what it is about but my guts tell me the boy found the samurai to hunt down a group or look for someone.

Anyway if tl and scanlations come out then I'll make a thread for this serie
The biggest virtue is to support these Seven Deadly Sins in their fight!!!
    Read Nanatsu no Taizai

Re: Weekly Shounen Magazine (Shounen Mag by Kodansha)

Even though Rena had asked me to write up a summary . . . I think I can't do a good job with it enough (plus, I was just skipping around through the manga). Here's just the general outline. Sorry if it sounds a bit confusing . . .

    Spoiler: Summary for Gamaran show

Now . . . let's see if any translator will pick it up . . . if no, then I'll pick it up (since I had been having a strange urge about it ever since I saw the colored pages. The series looks nice as well, but I want to wait and see if anyone else wants to jump in or not . . . -_-")

Yeah, I know. But as much as I'd like to try to scan and promote new series, there is only one me...and the first (and normally second chapter also) always have a lot of pages, and it will also be hard for me to consistently keep up with putting up new chapters of every single new series. It's simply not feasible since I don't have the time to do that. I would end up neglecting the other stuff (like my manga scanlation group). The best I can do is to just scan what I find interesting to me and might read...

The easiest way to create more scans is to create interest. If someone can translate/scanslate the first chapters, people will read it and scanners will start scanning in more of that series. Thus the closer we get to more being done, the closer we get to a complete magazine being out there, just like how Jump went from a few series to everything every week.

Re: Weekly Shounen Magazine (Shounen Mag by Kodansha)

I know how hard it is to provide huge number of raw, both for internal use as well as open-source... I used to provide 3 series in LaLa for one of my group, and if you throw in having to do additional work with the scanlation...

Which is one of the reason why I'm only reuploading raws from Share and Perfect Dark + translation for 2 series now. It's way too time consuming.

A 50 page with even just minor cropping and resizing would already take at least 1 hour... and then if you count the uploading time...

I can only provide my verbal support for you, Rena, and ask you not to over-extend yourself.

Re: Weekly Shounen Magazine (Shounen Mag by Kodansha)

One of the problems is that there isn't enough raw providers for WSM series.

And Finestela, thanks. Only when one has truly experienced it only then they can really understand...not only that, remember, I provide quality, not speed, and providing quality takes much more time compared to if you just did it in whatever way you want. Public raw scanning is not the only scanning I do. I'm also the raw provider for the projects my group, Eternal, scanlates. So imagine how much I have to scan.

Uploading itself really doesn't take that long for me, if I only need to put it up on MegaUpload and MediaFire. I'm using paid accounts for both MediaFire and MegaUpload so I can fetch files from URLs. What I would do is to upload my raws to my webhost, which runs at like 130 KB/sec upload speed (I dunno why MF and MU simply refuses to give me that upload speed when I know my internet connection is capable of it, uploading to MH is also a killer for me...), then I will fetch the files from my webhost to MF and MU via their file fetching function which only paid accounts can use. I can get my files uploaded much faster in this manner.

And I have a full time job. I only have about 3 hours per night on weekdays (4 if I'm lucky or get back from work on time) to dedicate to scanning. I also need to dedicate some time to my manga scanlation group also (which is normally during the weekends and public holidays). Not only that, scanning is not the only thing I do with my free time. I need to dedicate some time to playing video games and watching anime too, which is also normally during the weekends and public holidays.

Re: Weekly Shounen Magazine (Shounen Mag by Kodansha)

Same here, I'm studying for my PhD + TA job at the university. I also have a 2 and a half year old daughter to take care of, so time is indeed a precious commodity

After getting someone else to scan LaLa and Hana to Yume raws, I switched to lighter workload in helping my other group with typesetting on Bleach, D.Gray-man, and ToLoveRu, but I had to drop the typesetting altogether and concentrate only on the translation for ToLoveRu because I can't get online regular enough. So now, other than ToLoveRu, I just do a bit of translation for 1-shots in LaLa/LaLa DX/Bessatsu Hana to Yume, as well as my recent pick-up of Azumanga's new chapters (though just short term, for 3 issues, and monthly )

Anyway, Rena, you're doing a great job, and I appreciate you doing this for us. But never stress yourself out! Always leave time for real entertainment. (I miss WoW... haven't played since Christmas break... lol Though I still try to play a bit of Wii with my husband every now and then)

Yeah, out of all the scanners I talk to, the common theme is how cumbersome scanning is. We couldn't do it without you guys though. Take breaks or try not to take on too much on your own.

hmm... Zetsubou and Negima are both a bit low... Nearing or below ZeroSen is never a good sign

Knowing ShoMag it is about seeing eye dogs and their trainers.
