Question How much does a tankoubon cost?

I was wondering, how much tankoubon cost in your neck of the woods?
Here in Germany they are about 6,50€. Sadly the price increased, a few months ago they only cost 5€. Does the tankoubon got more expensive in your country? If so, does anyone know why?

No increase here though...the tankoubon still cost 45 THB (approximately 1.34 USD) here... .-.

    That's like 91 €-Cent, so you get them for 5,59€ ($8.32 / 276THB) less...

U.S. also had a price increase for some series. Jump Comics (VIZ Shonen Jump) were $7.99 and increased to $9.99 this month. VIZ Shojo Beat were already $9.99, VIZ Signature (seinen and josei) cost $12.99. Yen Press, Tokyopop, and Del Ray (all things Kodansha) manga usually cost $10.99. Dark Horse's prices change from series to series.

Well, that's about the same as here, probably in all Europe it is about the same...

Manga isnt sold here everywhere, but I checked at a library that does, and cost $10 each volume; pretty darn much if you ask, mostly if you go for a long series

If you buy english volume's here, it's about 1-2 euro's cheaper then you'd pay for their original price.

For manga translated in my language you'll pay around 2/3 euro's. (With the exact quality as the original versions of the volume's, so that's pretty neat.)

If you mean the ones sold at La Ceiba, at $10 they're pretty cheap considering they come all the way from Spain. I've bought manga from from Spain through friends and they cost me around $15.00

Manga imported from Mexico can cost between $7.00 and $10.00, depending on the seller.

I don't even now, if I could English versions here, maybe I should look for some and hope that they are cheaper, too.

Re: How much does a tankoubon cost?

In my country usually they make things like this:

If a volume costs $9,00 then it will cost around €9 but I'm not sure that WSJ manga follows that rule. Because Naruto cost around €7,55 and I don't know abou USA.

I posted it already an other topic so here it is:

But some publishers uses dusk jacket and color pages like the original japanese manga. And the online bookstores gives 20% discount. The english language manga price is really high: an 8 USD manga cost 2100-2500 Forints (11.5-13.5 USD or 7.75-9 €). I get my Yen Plus issues for 2500 Ft.

Edit: You can get german language manga for ~1900 Ft (10 USD or 7 €).

Re: How much does a tankoubon cost?

Mangas are offcially priced at £7 (GBP) in the UK , but couple of years ago, you can easily find them at below £5 on amazon. Nowadays, it's closer to £6 then £6. We just get the american version.

Chinese editions are cheaper then the Japanese versions, by about 20-30%, and I'm talking about the legal versions too. But the quality isn't up to scratch with the Japanese edition, they do have dust covers and the format is exactly the same as japanese, but the type setting and paper quality is quite meh. Even Chinese manga costs more now, this year mangas are 10% more expensive then last year. I guess they're cheap to collect at the end of the day, and you still support the original artist.

I really wish American editions kept the dust jacket.
