Good question. Since I have shelves full of a veriaty of manga, I checked all of them to see if they use the same chapter count in all of them.

And I noticed that BLEACH volumes had the same order used in Bakuman's first three volumes. And therefore, I use BLEACH volumes as a source for the chapter count used here. And so far, it was all accurate.

yeah, but experienced mangaka usually write a story so that the end of an arc ends with a volume release. I've seen this several times in shonen manga despite the chapter number staying the same
