Ye Imitotar you're right: is time to focus on their own manga, but imho next week, the chapter will swich to Eiji and Nakai. We need to see how Eiji's Manga is going and progresses that Nakai did.

Re: Bakuman 28 Discussion / 29 Prediction Thread

Well, Eiji's manga can't be doing too bad.... it would have to have ~35 chapters out already, since they said that he's still doing his serialization.

This was a fun transitional chapter, indeed. I'd really like to see Azuki's side of the story more, but then again they are making this manga by their own experiences and expertise in the 'scene' and I doubt they got too much of a link to seiyuu's lifestyle (though there should be enough reference material I guess it just wouldn't feel as natural as the manga-part of this manga does).

Re: Bakuman 29 Discussion / 30 Prediction Thread

Oh Nakai, you've fallen for a stone-cold bitch. Ko tells it like it is and it is apparently all rubbish. It isn't surprising that the person who specializes in a fantasy story would be more open to the colorfusical story.

Colorfusical is a strange sounding series. Koogy is like the Bono of the manga world, I guess. In that he wants to be the best at everything, not that he is literally a giant piece of shit.

Fukuda gets two issues for his Golden Cup entry? Or is that a double issue and they only will have four entrants? It's good that we know all the people competing this time.

I mentioned it in the spoiler thread, but I hope some tv people do an interview with Eiji about his anime and he mentions that he wants the lead female to be played by Azuki. Saiko is already really motivated, but the series is more fun when they are sleep-deprived and full of teenage rage

Re: Bakuman 29 Discussion / 30 Prediction Thread

Well just like Saiko said, he'll draw it or die trying. That panel where they looked like corpses was just plain hilarious. I can't wait to see him struggle when he's serialized.

And I kind of like the girl, looks like an honost, direct and no bullshit girl. And quite romantic / innocent basing on her manga and how she loved it herself. Damn would've been interesting to see Saiko team up with her. This is one char I'll look forward to see reappear.

And Fukuda, guess he gets 38 pages to fill while the other four just 19 pages? No wonder they'll think he'll end first when he gets a double issue. Quite the advantage though I'm betting that they do end first this time. Though Hattori kind of jinxed them again.

Guitar man bored me, I don't even want to see an other character / rival pop up. These three already seem plenty enough and Eiji is already a big enough of a rival to catch up with. Though I guess showing the final contender in the Golden Cup to show them all is the best way to go.

Re: Bakuman 29 Discussion / 30 Prediction Thread

I would like Eiji to meet the Koogy guy, that would be a funny incident. I hope they bump into each other at Jump, I'm pretty sure Koogy would be defeated by Eiji's personality. Haha
I also don't like how Nakai is acting now, I admired his situation! I don't understand why Ko was picking on stuff about being shounen but liked Colorfusical, which seems way out of the shounen league.

But man I really want to read the mangas that all these guys are dishing out! But that'd be like writing several manuscripts just for Bakuman.
As time passes, the day will come when everything will fade to memories.
But those miraculous days will continue, revolving forever, in my heart as my bittersweet memory.

Double Issue does not mean double the contents. It's just a double-number to tell people "there's no issue next week".

This is indeed a nice chapter..... though I gotta say that that mood that they had going at the end was a bit too euphoric for me... but I guess that's to be expected after 1 1/2 years of getting ready for these moments.

Can't wait for them to finally get serialized =3

Re: Bakuman 29 Discussion / 30 Prediction Thread

It seems that Bakuman is really gonna turn out to be a tournament series, only with competition for manga rankings instead of fighting. Take that, fourth wall! Aoki seems to have very focused and clear cut views of what a shonen should be. She also seems to be very rigid, I hope she doesn't take advantage of Nakai. He's a very easygoing guy, and a desperate one at that.

The stories Ohba's created for the Gold FUture Cup seem fascinating. I'm interested in Aoki and Nakai's Hideout Door and Makaino's Colorfusical in particular. I think Hattori has something against Makaino's editor, and Colorfusical does look like it could become an interesting cult series. If it wins, that is. Multiple series can get serialized from the Gold Future Cup, so maybe Mashiro and Takagi won't be the only ones getting into Jump. The question is, will it be Nakai, Fukuda, or Makaino?

I found it funny that they mentioned Muddy and K.O. Sen as examples of series' that had been serialized from the Gold Future Cup. Neither lasted to even 15 chapters, if I remember correctly. Though Hattori seems to think that they're really ready now, although he doesn't know that Mashiro and Takagi are practically zombies. Their grades must really be abysmal, I wonder if their parents getting upset that they're failing out of school will become a plot point later. With all of these new characters and plot points cropping up this week and the story moving to the next phase, Bakuman is starting to get even more fascinating.

I know double issue means that there ain't a chapter next week for series that are serialised but why do it in something like the Golden Cup where only one-shots get featured in? Or ain't the Golden Cup only for one-shots?

Re: Bakuman 29 Discussion / 30 Prediction Thread

There is no magazine-release in the week after a double issue. Usually due to holidays. It's got nothing to do with what kind of content the magazine has at that point in time, they're fixed pauses.

Why they put the first one shot of a cup onto the issue before the break? I don't know. I'd guess it's to get people to anticipate the other stories more over the break.

Oh, and one-shots are rarely ever only 19 pages long... Jump Oneshots usually go ~40-60 pages. Every one-shot for the cup gets that amount of pages. (Forgot to mention that in the last post.)

Other than being published later, thus compared to the first one, there's no real disadvantage for any participant. The double-issue is of no real consequence here.

Re: Bakuman 29 Discussion / 30 Prediction Thread

Those one shots are usually published in Akamaru, right? When will they publish the next issue? because I have three Weekly Jump issues, one Jump Square, I will buy a Shounen Sunday sometime in the future, and I want to a add an Akamaru issue with them as soon as they publish it.

And about the double issues, I have double issue 6-7, and it's basicly a plain issue with more mangas ((it's thicker than the other singles)) it's not an issue with two chapters per series

I'll love to see how the story will develope after the gold future cup. It kind of reminds me of Death Note. The characters are really well structured, their unique and COOL.

It's great how the whole plot it webbed together. overall it's just great!
hope they dont end it too soon

Fuduka is a fucking genius xD He's impulsive; interesting; funny; and is going to be my favourite character (I really loved as he thinks)! However we have a new coalization against the poor Koogy lol. I want to see what will happened in the next chap!
