Possible. But Dan was too random a character to be legend's father. Plus too many "I'm your father" moments in one manga. This is not Bollywood. Besides, is Tsunade Namikaze? What about Dan or her grandfather?

It would be more likely jiraiya is minatos dad, and im pretty sure he isnt. dan is too random and died too young. how could you see flashbacks of him and her bro without seeing a baby. It isnt important to reveal any of naruto's family anymore.I doubt we'll ever find out who his grandparents were. We still dont know jack about kushina. If ever kishi needed to reveal more about narutos family ibet kushinas on the top of the list since everytime kishi leaves us in the dark about something it's usually important down the road.

that's not true though...if naruto becomes hokage, he did so despite his heritage.

and to further the point, tsunade also said that kakashi is a given and unless kakashi is also part of the senju clan that heritage thing is not the only think hat matters

I wasn't so much of a believer until I read the thread.
I'm so hoping it's true because it would make sense and imo would be a fantastic twist. It took us a while until Kishi confirmed that the fourth was his father, maybe he's keeping this secret till the end. It would certainly explain a few things. There was for example no real need to bring up the fourth in his tsunade conversation. And her reaction also lets me to believe there's more to it.(the blushing).
It would also allow for the Senju vs Uchiha to really come full circle in the future.
Also the valley where Sasuke and Naruto fought and Kakashi's statements there would lead me to believe so.

This is one of THE theories I want to see confirmed by Kishi.

I kind of like this theory. It would kind of complete the chain of bonds between the main characters and it has been, like you said, hinted now that I think about it. However, there's the age issue like many pointed out, but it's not exactly impossible.

When Tsunade first met Naruto she was around 50 years old: About then, Naruto was like 14,15(?) meaning that Tsunade would be about 30-40 when she became a grandmother...
Also, when Jiraiya (who's as old as Tsunade) were Minatos sensei he looked quite old, meaning that Tsunade in that case would be kind of old when she got Minato and that would mean that Minato was very young when he got Naruto.

I also want to add more to the age thing. During the time of war, wouldn't it be smart to try to produce as many newborns as possible. That way there is a chance that they will survive and defend the village as they grow. So tsunade being pregnant at that young age is not completely crazy

But they'd need as many ninjas as possible, and Tsunade being pregnant takes her outta the action. Being a medic ninja and one of the three Sannin, she's very valuable and she knows this the most, so she can't risk pregnancy or anything that takes her out of the war.

I can't really add anything more of substance as to proving whether it was plausible or not, but I have two opinions on it.

1. Given that everyone let Naruto grow to be about 16 years old without ever telling him who his father was, it wouldn't be out of the question that nobody talks about Tsunade being Minato's father. However, I didn't like that, and I don't like this. It made sense from a storytelling standpoint to keep it a secret, but it made very little sense to me, within the context of the Narutoverse, to keep it a secret from everyone. The only I can think of to do that would be to keep his containment of the Kyuubi a secret, and they made no attempt to do that.

2. It would just be overkill to have him related to the Senju. All great people don't have to be related. We've already had the big reveal about Naruto coming from famous blood, and it would add so little to the story to do the exact same thing again. Maybe they could give him the Mokuton powers, too.

So you think that she was saying that being Hokage was a stupid because her son Minato died while he was Hokage?

No... it was explicitely shown that it was because her brother and lover both shared the dream to become Hokage and died in battle.

Seriously, come on... I agree that it would be nice, Naruto would have a «family» and will be a Senju, and all... but this theory doesn't work.

1. First thing she does when she meet her long lost grandson? She fight him on the street.

2. Tsunade and Jiraiya talk about Naruto and his parents... nothing is said about it.

3. Jiraiya says to Tsunade that he feel like if he was Naruto grandfather... nothing is said about it.

4. Age doesn't seem to work out.

I read the whole theory and I really like the point of Sasuke representing Madara and Naruto as the Senju clan at the valley of the end.Masashi kishimoto is very good at leaving very subtle hints.
Though I thought that maybe Tsunade might look a little more painful or emotional at the mention of Minato's name.But y'now she WAS drunk and all lol.

Alright, about the age, we really don't know how old Minato was. He doesn't seem like he was too old when he died though. Lets see...Tsunade's currently 55-56 I think. Say Naruto was born when Minato was 18 - 21... 18 + 16 = 34, 55 - 34 = 21. That would put Tsunade at 18 - 21 when Minato was born depending on his age, certainly possibly unless I'm missing something. Of course, just like in actual history, it might have been common for women to have children early, 15 - 18 which would give us an even bigger window to work with. All in all, the age works out as long as Naruto was born within Minato's late teens - early twenties.

For me the age thing is pretty well settled, it could be done within the above timelime. Well, I'm one of those who read the topic title and said "WTF?" but ended up in considering this MUCH POSSIBLE. But I agree that if this ever happens naruto will be so much overpowered by his lineage that all his effort in becoming hokage and doing well will be like shit ; )

and LOL for the guy who tought Dan was the short for Danzou...
