I honestly can't find Tobi as amusing anymore because I know who he is. I always thought he wasn't what he seemed (the mask was a good part of that--it's a blatant metaphor, and also, he's Akatsuki--he had to have something up his sleeve, he couldn't just be comic relief), and expected his silliness was an act, but it was easier to laugh at when I didn't know the man behind the mask.

But, I still love his dynamic with Deidara (and I love Deidara, so seeing him is always a plus). I adored when he shot that snide comment at his fellow Akatsuki about his art being "a rip off/unoriginal"--which he KNEW would get Deidara's ire. Even with the fact of his being Madara--that amused me (and honestly, it may be the fact that he IS Madara that he does this, because he knows he can get away with it relatively unscathed).

To me, the greatest part of this episode was (big surprise) Yuukimaru and Guren. I actually found myself worrying over her--especially when Yuukimaru pulled out the crystal, and there was a crack running through it. I really hope that's not a sign of things to come.

Also, it was really cute and beautiful when they were laying on the crystal together at the end; Guren using the last of her chakra to save them both. Both were cuddled together like a mother and son would be, relieved that they'd found each other alive after a crisis. Then, Yuukimaru's reciprocation of what Guren did for him on that rainy night. It was so sweet, and I felt so happy seeing that. I'm glad she's ok for now.

"I've finally found where I'll return home to." That warmed my heart so much, and made my day. I'm so glad he's found his happiness in her--and I believe she's found hers in him--and if fate allows, they'll have a true family.

And, as much as I love Orochimaru and am an Orochimaru fangirl--I think it's time that Guren told him to shove off--and found a new life with her "son".

Hopefully, Naruto will have noticed some of this--and when he comes to save Yuukimaru (as we all know he will), he'll try to save Guren also---and while I don't want it to end in that "Hey, let's all go to Konoha--it's a Utopian paradise!" bs that every filler arc seems to, I would like to see Yuukimaru and Guren live. And that may only come from a Naruto intervention.

Only time will tell, I guess.

This is easily the best filler arc and this was a great episode.

They actually used good animation with the guren vs 3 tail fight.

I'm glad that Guren isn't like every filler arc enemy we've seen before (although when she was first introduced she had "stereotypical" written all over her)

As much as I wan to see the cannon continue, i really dont mind this filler at all.

If this ep was cannon, i would give it 8.5/10. But by filler standards, 9.5/10 easily

This episode...didn't suck?

Biggest surprise of the day, for me. I actually liked it, and Guren looked bad*** this week. Her jutsu style is extremely versatile, and were she an actual canon character she'd be twice as awesome probably.

The animation was definitely improved over last week's, heck, over every other one in the arc so far. Personally, I think they tried a bit too hard with the Tobi/Deidara humor. I still laughed, but it didn't have that natural feel to it that made it so likable in the manga. But maybe that's just me.

Good episode. The version I watched didn't have previews, so I don't know what's happening next week. But hopefully they keep up this level of quality and make another enjoyable episode.

i like this filler episode. tobi sure is hilarious here.
the yuukimaru and guren scenes were also nicely done.
i hope naruto gets some action time in succeeding episodes also.

i love that esp because humor of tobi talk about rip-off ... DANGO!! no wonder Tobi will prefect for Anko because they are dango lover .!!

anyway it is not bad ... three tail is pure beast ? i guess Last Great war ... i want to konw about Great war ninja ...

great episode. The ending was great where Naruto made fun of shizune.

Hmmm...this episode was not bad. Guren didn't suck so that's a plus. It still seems like some parts of this arc are pretty useless though, namely the Konoha parts. I wish they would have skipped over all the useless crap and just cut to this point sooner. Ah well, whatever. It was so great to finally see Deidara and Tobi. It was funny. Not hilarious, but funny. And Tobi is just plain creepy now that we know who he is. He acts like a crazy old man I guess. I just can't wait until they show Tobi do the persona switch to Madara. It'll be all of a sudden, "Lalala! I'm Tobi the jackass, no wait!" *lightning crash* "I'm...Uchiha Madara! MWAHAHAHAHA!"

can someone do me a favor and recap this arc for me? I hate fillers, and I'm kinda pissed they made the sanbi story into a filler, but I don't want to watch them all...I skimmed through this episode and didn't know what the hell was going on...would be much appreciated.
