I think we'll get Oni/Ohmagari vs Akutsu/Kaidou. No clue what to do with Fuji, he would have been perfect for Kimijima/Tohno and I hope he gets in via some crazy plottwist, otherwise I don't know.

Kaidoh? No thank you. He isn't even in the same league. If I would expect it to be anybody, it would be Kirihara. He still hasn't had the devil mode upgrade that Konomi mentioned.

Hopefully Marui and Kite's match will be over before this year ends. I want to see real characters play.

Marui is a national-leveled player who's genius volleying technique is almost miraculous. Kite is a player who helped put Okinawa on the map this year and although his methods are questionable, forced Tezuka to use the second door of The Selfless State, and he can use an omni-directional warp step. And, I believe he also had the power necessary to use the Big Bang. How are these two not real characters?

I'm glad we get to see them play, because Atobe and Nioh got too much showtime so far in SPOT.

That has to be the most ridiculous scenes in the entire series. You can feel how badly Gin got his ass beat. Duke's got more power in that right arm than Gin does in his whole body, it seems.

All the while remembering that Duke still calls Byodoin "Boss." (Well, in the Chinese scans anyway.)

Dislike how high schoolers lost, especially since they donated a set to the 2nd stringers, but happy to see the match finally conclude. Dislike how it went from 10-15 chapter match to a half page insta kill, but glad to see a high schooler beat a middle schooler ( sorry gin ). Looking forward to the doubles match and how marui will bust out some insane volleys.

So Kirihara IS in the same league? Of course he isnt.
Kirihara cant even handle the use of Snake and Gyro Snake being used from the same stance, Kirihara isnt Akutsu league.
Kirihara VS Kaidoh you cant even confirm who would win on that one anymore after Konomi has slowed down Kirihara's improvement rate and sped up Kaidoh's.

At least, fodder Gin won't appear again until some time passes. I'd like that Duke asks for a rematch against a MS and plays against Yukimura and we finally get to see a power player being defeated by a player that's not power-type.

Its what makes me look even more forward to Ryoma VS Byoudouin.
Byoudouin is likely going to defeat Tokugawa. He overflows with ''final boss'' feeling.
Far more than Sanada and Yukimura did.

Instead of who would he play singles? Sanada? Ryoma? Tokugawa? Unless you can make a convincing argument that Oni and Ohmagari are in fact not a doubles pair, I don't see how you want to dispute Akutsu playing in doubles.

Honestly I am seriously sick of these Makeshift Doubles Pairs.

They would have been awesome for Team Shuffle but for the titles of the Top 10? Its horrible.
Niou/Anybody seems legit since Niou is the awesomeness of Doubles in the series,

Momoshiro/Kenya or Marui/Kite for something as important as representing the nation is just horrible.
Surely the 2Wings of Kyushu or Data Pair would kick their asses?

Because I find it unlikely that there are 6 Singles and 2 Doubles in the 1-10 as opposed to 4 Singles and 3 Doubles. Not only does it clash with the way 11-20 was arranged, having only 2 Doubles would also mean that we can't have the alternating match order that's been used since the Nationals, and that is apparently also used in these matches. If it was only 2 Doubles, we'd have 5 Singles after the next match and that would beg the question why one Singles was randomly thrown in between the Doubles matches.

We already know that Duke was Singles, and from the 11-20 it's implied that a pair is made up of two consecutive numbers. That leaves us with Byoudouin/Tanegashima, Ryoga/Oni and Oni/Ohmagari. Since I don't see either of Byoudouin and Ryoga playing doubles, Oni/Ohmagari doesn't only make the most sense in that aspect, it would also be more consistent to have 1-4 as Singles and 5-10 as Doubles as opposed to having one Doubles at a higher position for no apparent reason.

Simply because Konomi wanted to make the readers realize that despite Atobe/Niou's undeserving and ridiculous win against Ochi/Mouri, the Top 8 are still really strong so we had Duke piss on Ishida Gin real quick for us.

He could have done that with Kimijima and Tohno just as well, no need to randomly throw Duke into the mix. If it was someone who you'd reasonably expect to win like Tanegashima or Ryoga, I could see your point, but Duke's win was kinda out of left field imo.
