yes I agree with that. however the problem I had was that
Hitsu seems to keep up with harribel in speed as well!
but yeah perhaps the elemental advantage could increase

actually Hitsu vs luppi was of absolute importance.
a few seconds late and Rangiku would have pierced breasts!
but yeah I agree we can't compare ichigo's bankai to Hitsu's directly
since they are different types.

It was a plot device to build the suspense and show the power and potential of these "beasts", hitsu COULD have used his ice mirror he could have used that ice shard attack etc etc but thats like saying yama should have just wiped out all the fraccion in a swift blaze, its just not the direction kubo wanted to go for the sake of the story.

Yup Specially when trying to make an arc, it makes no sense in destroying the characters in one swift. He builds up the story until we reach the climax which we still haven't really seen lol.
