They need to cover their bases, idiot. They can't just keep putting episodes up when they KNOW that they're not secure and they KNOW that that insecurity will be taken advantage of. And why shouldn't we be upset at the guy? Because he couldn't wait a day? It's NOT good for us. It didn't help any foreigners except that they got the episode ONE day early, and it delayed the simulcast for North Americans. It did one drop of "good" and several drops of harm. And FUNimation has already stated that they didn't pull the video portal as "punishiment". They did it so that they wouldn't get sacked again while they worked on increasing their security. It's called "prudence" not "punishment".

*sighs* If this had worked out, we wouldn't have needed any more fansubbing groups for One Piece. Then all those anime companies could have caught on and maybe there would have been a peaceful solution to the whole subbers taking away business. Honestly, there's no way you can say that this isn't that idiot's fault for deciding to leak the episode early. To begin with, THAT'S ILLEGAL. Given that the subbing and license belonged to Funimation, he had no right to go distributing that outside of their website at all. It's not like the subbing groups, where they give you permission to download and use their work.

Also, I don't blame Funimation for going on the defensive. You have to understand, even if they offer to sub the episodes, they have to get permission from Toei first. If they've got a chance of idiot fanatics trying to steal their work early, there's no reason Toei would even bother with them.

Honestly, I wish I could smack the idiot who did this upside the head *fumes*
