The problem is not the magazine, it's Amano sensei's poor storytelling ability. He's sticking to the lame "as long as there are jokes and battle in every chapter" way of writing.
Shiibashi and Tamura sensei are lesser artist than him (only by a slight margin) but much much better storyteller.
Mago and Beelze are going to be big, possibly Reborn/D.Gray-man/Gintama big.

I know Shiibashi and Tamura are great storyteller, that's why they won Golden Future Cup. But, Amano is also Golden Future Cup winner, so he should be a great storyteller, too. I guess Amano's biggest mistake was not serialized the one shot he used in Golden Future Cup. Also, I think Amano is not suited for battle manga.

I agree, he's just not suited to do battle manga. His one shots was mostly slice of life and it was very good.

I agree with you. Amano's gag style is not very good. He should have learned more about gag from Sorachi before started to work on his own. Shinohara is doing very well on gag, then why not Amano?

No, he shoulda just left the gag out of Akaboshi...thats one of the things that ruined it for me.

No, I think Akaboshi needs gag to success, if there were no gag in Akaboshi, it would have been more bad. The problem is that Amano doesn't have good gag sense to support the plot and the characters.

Can somebody please enlighten me on this whole series cancellation thingy? Was there any announcement made regarding this?

If this series is indeed going to be cancelled, I'd feel really, really bad. I think Amano did a pretty good job so far in weaving a new Suikoden story. Although the gags are out of place most of the time, I have to admit I did and do enjoy them. Had a few good laughs watching them.

Muwlove previously posted a rumor about the cancellation and it's rank are very low which make Akaboshi the most possible for cancellation.

it depends on whether he can make the gags good or not. For the time being, his gag is the only thing annoying me so much n I dont see it can make the manga successful.

well, people can have different point of view about the gag stuff.

well sorachi is probably the only one who can combine gag, action, batle, drama and many more sucsefully.
Amano sensei probably tougth he could do the same but WRONG.

I have a quick question that people in MH are saying that Akaboshi's gag style is not good. Then, is judgement on Akaboshi's gag style based on raw or tranlation? I found out that Japanese reader like the gag style in Akaboshi. But, they apparently didn't like the characteristics of Taisou and presentation of battle scene.

Apparantely, they don't complain much as MH, even lots of people liked it, with the artwork. Japanese readers just didn't like the characteristics of Taisou and presentation of battle scene.

ToC is made by the japaneses n it seems the "funny" gags don't really save the manga.

Battle scenes, again, I have problems about the way he presented.

Taisou, he's just ok for me.

so u like the gags, don't ya?

Can someone PLEASE answer my question? Is people's judgement on Akaboshi's gag style is based on raw or translation?
