HAHAHAHA THE EDITORS WERE BASED ON REAL PEOPLE?
the last panel/comparison is from gintama, though
Eiji's editor is based on a real person (name&looks) the others are using real names, but based on other persons looks.
The long haired one is Hattori's name-giver and the short haired one the one who's looks hattori is based on, loosely.
I'm not surprised that they based their characters on Jump's editorial staff on the real editorial staff. I think that I've always kind of suspected that they did. But still, it's nice to see the similarities pointed. Thanks for the pictures!
Why is Hattori have two comparison? Still, his character art is improving since then, Hattori is more bulky now...
See my post above.
The first one is the name-loaner, the second one is the looks-loaner
So the long hair dude is a true editor. Lol those guys decide about series
they're all from the editorial department -- just eiji's editor is the only one who's lent his name and face to a character, if I got that right
the last dude is from Jump Square, btw

Thanks for the pictures, real interesting.
Now we only need to see real mangakas pop up.
Like Hoshino-sensei, she really needs to pop up in the next new years meeting .
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
I can see a Bakuman TV Drama a possibility with those real-life counterparts
Lol, I posted the same thing after you had posted it , Sekida.
Anyway, thanks for posting that, it was surprising to see that they are actually live people and not fictional.
It's really an entertaining show for bakuman readers
and I just feel like sharing it so I posted it here.

The chief editor looks like such a nice guy in reality, totally unlike the Bakuman rendition.
But that SQ guy really looks exactly like in the new year's party chapter, I could have recognized him if I had met him by chance!
