Why Byakuya... I mean in this whole skirmish between VR/SS, it was Yamamoto the real star of the show and Juha Bach, fail too see why Byakuya and not Yamamoto instead
Well, I don't think Yamamoto for this cover would be a good choice. If I were Kubo, I would want to draw Yamamoto in bankai, or something similar, for the cover. And it would be spoiling for those who only read tankobons, they would know beforehand that CC goes bankai, and how does it look like... I think there's a fair chance that the one AFTER Byakuya will be Yamamoto, as the fight wraps up in chapter 511, and that will be Vol 58. Maybe, maybe not.
I'm not too surprised, but I'm not that excited about it being Byakuya either. On the other hand, I don't know who else it should be. I'd say Yama, but he had a cover a while ago, and I don't know how a second one would be any different. At least Byakuya's had a redesign since his last cover. I suppose Kubo could have used 'young' (y'know relatively speaking) Yama, but that wouldn't really make sense for a volume cover.
I wonder if this was the original idea, that Kubo decided against for whatever reason -
Damn cool picture, that one.
Actually, maybe Royd deserved the cover? He was a key part of the Bach's scheme, after all.
Well Yama already got like 3 color pages, the one posted above, the one where he burns Driscoll and the "Farewell, Yamamoto" one, so I guess Kubo just felt like drawing someone else. Yama did get quite a bit. But I'd rather have seen one of the Stern Ritter or something get it, because Byakuya is still alive....

As usual,I agree with Zehahaha: byakuya has done nothing in this volume,he has only lost. yamamoto was the real boss of this volume, although in the next one he would have died . I don't think it'd have been a spoiler,as his bankai was just some flames, and it would have tempted the readers to buy the volume,or at least to read it somehow.
Small preview from the color page:
I really want to see this cover in HQ.
I wanna see the details, the wounds.
It looks very cool. So much better than his first cover.
Yamamoto better, damn well, get the next cover. Or I'll protest for reals, lol.
Nice one with Byakuya though, I hope he comes back.
Yamamoto getting the next cover is pretty much a given, I think.
Byakuya looks awesome on this cover.
yeah,it was in the chapter,in the first page. however,I'm really disappointed... yama deserved to be there instead of that weakling captain. especially as I'd put someone from the 0th division on volume 58's one

Bleach Volume 57 poem:
Depending on your word order either of these can be interrupted:
Even if I scatter and never bloom again
I scatter like a flame, beautifully
Scattering, never to bloom again, even if so
Like a flame, I scatter beautifully
