Garp vs. PX-4

I know we don't have a lot to go on, so there probably won't be much in the way of rational discourse, but I'm curious how this one would turn out, putting perspective on people's views of VAs and Pacifistas.

I'd go for Garp in this one. The speed with which he flew past Sanji and Franky suggests he won't have any trouble dodging lasers, and I think he's still stronger than Luffy at this point if perhaps less durable.

Me too. I think he should be as strong as Rayleigh, if not stronger. What we saw while he was chasing SH was probably just a fragment of his real abilities. He did say that he was rusty but that would have been more convincing if he didn't throw a steel ball bigger than Sunny after saying it.
And I think the title "Hero of the Marines" stands for something.

Also, is there a reason why you chose PX-4 specifically?

Frankly I see garp, the hero of the marines, as someone who is way stronger than what he VA rank would imply. I think he could take a pacifista anytime.

Garp is totally different from Luffy in terms of strenght : he should be around Rayleigh's level (he thought himself he would be enough to deal with Rayleigh on Shabondy Islands). That would mean Garp is 100 times stronger than the SHs. And I am totally convinced that each PX is not 100 times stronger than the SHs : after all, a PX already lost against the SHs.

So, only in terms of strenght, the answer is definitely Garp.

Moreover, if you just think about what represents Garp, you will see that some guy like a PX could not beat a guy like Garp.
PX is nothing in the OP world whereas Garp is one of the most important people. Garp is for me the guy that have the more influenced the OP world in all the manga.
First of all, he is the Monkey D. man : at the head and at the origin of the family and by consequence of a lot of things through his actions and his family's actions.
Secondly, his position among the marines shows how important and strong he had been before, during and after Roger's era.
Third, he is still able to change the world only with words. Do not forget that if he had not told Luffy that Dragon was his father, Luffy would have died in ID as Ivankov and Inazuma would have not helped him : they would have stayed in LVL 5.5 waiting for " Dragon'signal ".

Conclusion :
- Garp is so strong
- Garp is one of the most important people in the OP world.

How can he lose in front of :
- the strenght of a PX ?
- a non important person such as a PX ?

We must not underestimate the strenght, the experience and the power of Garp : WB only talked about Roger, Sengoku and Garp when it came to the guys who really knew the seas, this is not for nothing. A PX would be nothing for WB whereas Garp has been with 2 other people, Roger - the Pirate King - and Sengoku - The Chief Admiral - recognized as a true person.

First, that was a figurative speech. Shakky didn't actually mean that Rayleigh is exactly 100 times stronger than Luffy. Is she a robot perhaps, to be able to calculate it? No, she just wanted to show how much stronger Rayleigh is than any of the Supernovas.

Luffy times 100 is enough to be able to cause massive earthquakes with a kick to the ground.

And second, what's up with these monster posts lately? You remind me of a friend of mine who yaps so much that he can't be stopped sometimes.

Garp's offensive abilities are terrifying. Whereas Pacifistas are slow and not too durable.

He's my personal favorite Kuma-bot, so much cooler than PX-1.

Just thought it'd be clearer to have a specific one so there couldn't be claims that they're different or that I meant all of them.

Maybe Garp was a bad choice then. I think Saul could at least fight even with Garp so we won't go there, would Momonga have a significantly different result in the poll?

How many PX would have been better. But in a mano a mano. It would depend if Garp gets injured/exhausted or not to beat one.

Who knows. We've only seen him kill a huge sea king. That's nice but it's not so impressive as it used to be. And I don't think it would be worth it to spend as much resources as for a battleship to build a Pacifista if they were only as strong as an average vice-admiral.

I don't think Momonga could beat Zoro on his own, let alone a Pacifista.
