A quick report about the new OAD's number of copies reserved is out!
It seems that from now on the accurate number of copies will be be a classified information but, after the miraculous number of copies for the former OAD, an enormous number is coming out!
The Kodansha Sales Department also said that in the middle of this recession, this is really a wonderfull number of pre-order to achieve.(and the established price did go up to boot ^^ )

TL Note: the "above mentionned matter" is referring to his wish to have a movie after the OAD. he said several times before in his blog (07/19, 08/08)that if the OAD 1 doesn't sell well enough, kodansha won't be willing to do something else with him.
So now, it's basically confirmed that there will be something else. And because it's confirmed, akamatsu can't speak about it freely anymore, hence alling this "above mentioned matter" instead.
About the "series" part, I'm not sure at all. Almost all the sentence is easy to translate, but the first part (which became the last part in the english sentence) is weirdly written, at least for me.
Unfortunately, for us negima readers, it's also the most important part.
So maybe i'm wrong and he's just talking about the movie again, and not a series. Or maybe I'm right, and now that he sees that the sales go really well, he want to do more than just a film.

The "OAD system" means that on top of putting the DVD with the tankoubon/book related, those manga tankoubon are guaranteed to be published.

It become like this, so for the time being, the tankoubon are guaranteed to be published until about this time of the next year.
Since I'm currently drawing the 4th chapter of the 29th book, I do have quite an advance.
But since it has decided that there will be various things after the OAD4, I can probably say that the chances that the serialization will stop after the book 31 are pretty low.
(after this, talking about the fact that the numbers of pre order shows again that negima is being "protected" -in a time where the publishing world is in crisis- by a "class of readers".)
