Sorry for interrupt but I think that Rivault can not score like that.
Maybe the keeper punch the ball out and Tsubasa come in and score.

Well, Callusias didn't seem very confident on this one >_>

Anyway, just a warning that you can now download and read Millenium Dream.

Shinji, are you going to release another one-shot or are you going to continue with Road to 2002?

    Great one-shot, by the way.

A few spoilers tho, but nothing that wasn't already expected.

Just a question: why Riveldo there, and not Rivaul?

Re: This Week (Roads 117-118-Millenium Dream) Discussions and Predictions

Kaiser: I'll go on with Road to 2002, but another one shot is on its way.
Since this one-shot was released before Road to 2002, I thought that it was about time to scanlate it.

tyug: Pepe just isn't there. It's overage, not oversea. Tsubasa and the others are older here, and olympic teams can add 3 overage players during the olympics.

Pehu: Because "Riveldo" isn't exactly the same character as Rivaul. Rivaul is a more deformed/ct-like version of Rivaldo.

This one shot was released before Road to 2002. It was drawn for the sydney olympics, something to encourage the japanese team, it's not related to the story at all, although it takes some elements from it, has some elements that were later used in the story, and it's probably giving us some foresight on the future, but everything isn't exactly like in Road to 2002, again because it was released before.

As the titile implies, it's a "dream". The first and last pages are showing us that the whole story is just a video game. The last comments of the guy who played are also hints that some elements aren't making sense.

Shinji, 4 da millenium dream. Supposed it to be overage or underage? Those three?

Cause the other look more older and more mature (in drawing) than them.

Hmmm, that would make sense. And that is exactly what I did understand from the One Shot, but since it said that Riveldo was a partner of Tsubasa on Barcelona, that confused me a little.

Re: This Week (Roads 117-118-Millenium Dream) Discussions and Predictions

Yeah, Riveldo said something uncomplete though. Yet the next word comes from the commentator.

And I thought that olympics allow only 3 overage players but Riveldo, Robecaru, and few others each from Brazil and Japan are older than that. But saying that Riveldo said his teammate in Barca, then Tsubasa should atleast been around 20++ still.

And the best part of this game, its a Millenium Soccer 2000. Is this one-shot come around 2001 or what?

Though it may not be related to the RT2002, but still...

Re: This Week (Roads 117-118-Millenium Dream) Discussions and Predictions

Mail: Again, it is overage. Tsubasa and the others are older here. The others look older just because they're drawn in a more realistic way.
Again, it's just a game, the guy playing is pointing out that it doesn't make sense, so don't try to find any logic with the brazilian players and their age.
Again, it was drawn for the sydney olympics, which means, as the title implies, in 2000.

Pehu: Well, Rivaldo was in Barcelona. So it's true that he should have been his teammate, before Rivaul was created.

The one-shot was a nice read, but it was a bit confusing with all the "fodder" characters and didn't impress with much. More Natu, less Romaldo please

P.S. And here's one for Mail - the one who scored against Brazil wasn't Tsubasa

And Tsubasa didn't win the group match against Brazil.

EDIT: Anyway, I think that the plot in this one-shot combined with the elements of the actual CT storyline could make a very good arc.

Re: This Week (Roads 117-118-Millenium Dream) Discussions and Predictions

Out of interest, I looked up Japan's actual performance in the 2000 Olympics and was quite surprised by several things:

    1. Japan actually qualified for those
    2. They were in the same group as Brazil !!!

If that one-shot was made before the actual Olympics (which I think is right), then Japanese readers must've been like They went on to lose the game with Brazil, only by 1-0 and qualified in second place in the group - another reason for the mangaka to be considered with psychic powers.

Ultimately, Japan lost to the United States in the quarter-finals after 2-2 in regular time and 4-5 on penalties. The only miss for Japan was by Nakata, who I perceived at the time as one of the country's greatest hopefuls. Must have been some blow for him and for Japan.

If nothing else, Japan were the only Asian team to progress out of the groups

The groups were already determined before the one-shot was drawn. So Japan in the same group as Brazil isn't really a surprise.

Also, Nakata was the best player from Japan during a few years, so I don't think he took the blow so badly.

On CT, too bad that Rivaul's shot hit the bar.
