Volume 1 of Nisekoi hasn't released yet. It going to release on May 2.

No, the fans aren't bothered by the last year hiatus.
    Sellings keep being around 450k.

    Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

Very interesting Oricon list. One thing that stands out is that Uchuu Kyoudai has like 9 volumes on there. That's a sure sign of the series exploding. Which is great, because it's a remarkable series. I think the live action movie might've just come out.

Toriko's got the highest total it's had while still on the Oricon. It's bound to get to 400K soon.

Kuroko's doing much better if 17 has 250K. I think previously it only totaled around 200K. (Fixed this, I was reading the one below it.)

Tegami Bachi has two versions of this volume out, and doing very well.

All 3 volumes of Gin no Saji are still on the ranking. I'm still amazed, given that it's an utter slice of life manga and doesn't have any battles or big rivalries or anything like that in it.

Thermae Romae as well. Though that's a comedy with an anime and a live action movie.

Nisekoi, of course, is doing great for a new series. It was mentioned in the other thread how well it's doing and the only reason it's not higher is because the first printing sold out all over. It's likely that once it has a second printing, this volume will be on the chart again.

Shingeki no Kyojin is still selling extremely well.

Jojolion has been selling FAR more than even the finale of Steel Ball Run was. I'm really hoping with the big 25th anniversary thing they've been doing, along with the increased sales, it'll push for a new anime of some form to be made.

Kurogane isn't doing too well to sell only that much compared to a lot of other new series.

Overall, there weren't too many "big hits" coming out this week besides One Piece, Naruto, and Bakuman. So it allowed for things in the 20-30K range to be on the list. I'd assume there's probably usually a lot selling in that range, but we never see them because the 50th place is usually above that. But because of that, it's allowed for some big totals and earlier volumes of series to be on the Oricon.
Edit: Actually, looking back, that's not really true. Actually usually the lowest things on the Oricon are about at this range. Sometimes even lower. But varies somewhat and sometimes the lowest are a little higher or lower depending on what's new or becoming a hit.

No, Kuroko never reached 200K tank sale (unless you count a tank sale for a whole year). Beelzebub had 200-250K and Kuroko always been sell less than Beelzebub; this is first time that Kuroko actually surpassed Beelzebub and I think Kuroko had the better anime effect than Beelzebub.

Looks like it came out May 5th according to the movie website. So that'd be two days of the movie being out to add to what the anime has already been doing.

Toriko outsold Gintama. It's climbing and climbing. Looks like Uchuu Kyoudai and Kuroko got big boosts from their anime. I'm happy.

Uchuu Kyoudai is not a result from the anime; it is a result from its live-adaptation movie.

I'm glad Toriko has almost reached 400,000. Those are pretty solid number, even for a Jump title. Though it is still growing, the growth rate has slowed enough that I now doubt that it will ever be as big a hit as the big 3(I'd have liked if it had at least matched Bleach). Oh well. Not everything has to be a mega hit.

Exactly how do you know this

Please explain why it can't be both, in your expert opinion.
