Seems like a pretty good debut for volume 2. That's more than twice volume one's first week sales.

At this rate I think Attack on Titan might outsell Naruto this year.

    Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

I dunno about that. You need to remember that it's a monthly manga, so even if every volume sells well, it total sales aren't as high as it would be with a weekly manga. But still, I really like the series and I'm glad it's doing well with the launch of the anime. And the anime's pretty damn good. Plus it's got a live-action movie coming out this year.

Hmm...interesting. The special edition of Silver Spoon sold lower than the regular one. Whereas for The World God Only Knows, the special edition outsold the regular one. Does anyone know the reason behind this?

Proportionally there's less Gin no Saji Limited Edition than Kami nomi. It would be something like this (this is based on last volume circulation of both manga, so don't take it seriously):
    800.000 Normal GnS #7 - 200.000 Gns #7 Limited Edition
    4 to 1
100.000 Kami nomi #21 - 100.000+ Kami nomi Kami nomi #21 Limited Edition
    4 to 5

Gin no Saji include THIS(in this are some kind of info on chars etc.), Kami nomi special edition include volume of Magical Star Kanon. It gives you a bonus manga material (still it don't add anything to story) so Kami nomi bonus is somewhat better to a fan (my opinion). Specific group that read both manga is also a reason. Gin no Saji - casual reader, Kami nomi - otaku. Their motive to buy is different so it's also a reason.

    Re: Weekly Oricon Comic Rankings

While it may be a gross generalization, it seems like otaku are more willing to buy grossly overpriced special editions. The anime industry is basically built around otaku spending 6000 yen for limited edition BD with only 2 - 4 episodes per disc.

Difficult to say for sure because it doesn't sell enough to make it onto the Top 50 list. But in total (all volumes released so far) I'd say it has probably sold over a million copies by now. In terms of individual volumes I'd say ~200k+.

I'm really happy to see Tokyo Ghoul up there. I just read the latest scanlated chapter and I still love the premise, the story and the art That it's selling close to 100k already is a nice achievement so I hope it will get more attention by the international fanbase (and faster scanlations).

And the rise of Shingeki continues~

An increase in sales for Owari no Seraph, great. Hopefully with all the colors and covers give to the series, it will reach 100k for the 3rd volume. It would great if it can get an anime by a good studio, like Ao no Exorcist with Bones. I mean, it really increased the sales many times over.
