Not really sure on that...
Usually if they do a phone interview and you pass it, then they usually want to do an interview in person.
They only thing that kinda worries me is the fact that they said they wanted someone that knows how to create sprite/pixel art, which I have no idea how to do. :/
That's definitely a problem. Maybe they will be willing to hire you if you show that you're interested in learning how.
I am hoping...
I pick up things pretty fast.
Any updates about the interview?
Yeah I did the phone interview yesterday and it went well.
Been moved on to the next step, which is to do an art test.
The art test is them giving me a 3D rendered-wire layout of a level and they want me to illustrate a deep forest kinda area over it.
here is a take from another artist that I found:
I don't really think he conveyed what they asked for...
"Location: The level takes place in a dense, temperate forest with the remnants of old trade routes, guard stations, outposts, inns...
Atmosphere: It’s a rather dark environment; players are under a thick canopy of trees that lets very little sunlight through. However, this environment is, first and foremost, natural: nothing is evil or corrupted. There is just an old forest road abandoned by humans, which nature has reclaimed. This must be a relatively beautiful environment (flowers, mushrooms, etc.), though a bit wild and mysterious.
There are also much older remnants, stone blocks etched with large runes that glow with a blue light (secondary lighting for dark parts), and that look like Stonehenge. They’ve been here for so long that no one can explain their presence or their purpose.
Enemies in the area: Wolves, highway robbers."
Oh, that sounds really intriguing.
I can't wait to see your version.
Good luck Johnny
Yeah dude, keep porking that chicken
It's actually more vulgar, but it's more confusing this way
Long time John, good luck to you man.
Finished the art test and sent it in...
here is my version:
That looks cool
It certainly looks more like the description than the other one.
I am hoping with all my might that I get this "dream job"!
