Thanks so much cnet for taking up your time in translating, much appreciated.
Akari reminds me of how Anzu warned the people in the osaka one in the room. she said put on the suits or you die.
So i think the 2nd mission or maybe 4 missions we will see izumi and nishi start out. ooki would prob be sorta like a leader and would help them out just as Akari did for him.
I thought that Izumi and Nishi were going to be the main protaginosts. I always wanted to know how Izumi originally died. I also thought that he has been in the room before Nishi. Also, I could be wrong but wasnt Nishi in the room a full year AFTER Izumi left?
Hopefully we can see the seeds of the Host Samurai / Izumi fued. I bet that there was a mission where the Vamps were targeted.
I've been thinking about the way the stories are numbered.
Minus started with -0008, which was the first paragraph from Ooki's point-of-view.
In said paragraph, Ooki is in a mission that sounds similar to the Buddha mission, and it sounds like a very hard one as well.
The story then jumps way back to -0030.
This is when Ooki dies, joins the room, and begins his first mission.
That means Ooki is probably going to be the protagonist all the way up to 0000.
For the most part, I'd say everyone believes that is when Gantz begins Kurono's story.
But what if it's not?
What if 0000 is the start of Izumi and Nishi's story?
Possibly, they will come in before, and either Ooki leaves or dies, and allows those two to come forward to the spotlight.
Now, more than ever, I'm confident that this "novel" is going to be more lengthy than any of us have predicted thus far.
I'd really like that, then I would be able to get at least twice my gantz fix. Either this would come out on the weeks the manga does not, alternating constantly, or even better, the novel comes out weekly, giving us something to read every week. Additionally, I doubt all that would have fit into one chapter, closer to two, so we get a lot of substance either way.
I'd settle for alternating, myself.
Oku knows exactly what he's doing by allowing Minus to be created (with some of his input from past notes and such, or directly, I'm sure).
Gantz is about pleasing, and teasing the fans.
Want your favorite characters to have a hardcore sex scene?
Too bad, you only get a romantic half page with no details.
Love a character?
Too bad, he/she is dead for good.
Want a chapter a week?
Too bad, I'm taking a break.
Oku has us hooked and he knows it.
I'm calling it right now, so mark my words! Somewhere between CH. 0007 and the end of Gantz Minus, Akari is going to die protecting Ooki.
or....it could even be that Katou and Kurono bring the ladies bad luck...the girls all seem to die when they fall in love with Kei or Katou. We don't know if Ooki brings girls bad luck! Still, I smell some sort of romance between Akari and Ooki. I actually think it's fairly obvious.
Hah, I completely forgot to check the forum regularly to see when gantz minus would come out. It made my night to find there was already a raw and translation of the first issue.
The story started at 'zero', with Ooki being the last man standing in a mission. From that I think it's pretty obvious that would be the last mission before Kurono and Katou (in chapter 1) come into play. Then Izumi is already free from gantz and Nishi is stealthed somewhere biding his time, eventually Ooki dies and Nishi takes the shot at the boss. (ironically Nishi's behaviour in gantz would be akin to Ooki's tactics in football)
Anyway, I'm going on vacation with family for 2 weeks starting August and after that I have lots travelling and activities with my friends, so I probably won't appear here until September. See ya.
Now then, we are given two numerically based points of reference: the minus 30 to 0 and the -008. Most are quite positive that the latter is simply issue number and that the series will end with -001, regardless of where -001 stand in reference to the start of the gantz narrative. This means that we aren't going to receive the full story (nor will it last 1-2 years). Most likely, as already evidenced, the series won't progress in a linear fashion, or rather, will contain isolated packets of linear narrative, within a nonlinear frame. That is, it started in the middle of one mission, jumped to the beginning of Ooki's death (according to the preview we'll likely see the end of his first mission), then the story will jump to a much later mission, and finally, the story will jump back to the events of 0.
We have little useful information in terms of the minus 30 to 0. It could represent mission numbers, days, weeks, etc. All we know is that 0 likely represents the end of Ooki's story. We have very few clues as to which segments overlap with Izumi and Nishi's time in gantz
p.s. I just realized that I may finally discover the identity of Freshy Fresh.
p.p.s. Just read Amnesiac's post. We need to stop agreeing so often.

Can always depend on GAT. thanks man!
hmm 2 whole chapters was this one mission it seems judging how their was a picture of those aliens on the last page.
first page definally tells you its not oku because akari has no boobs lol its a surfboard..i think oku would rip his own hair out. i bet on one of the covers on the final pharse of gantz he will draw his own version of akari.
Hope to see cnet doing his awesome work again (^o^)/
Just take your time, buddy ~_^ I know it's hard (I'm translating it into spanish x_x)
Thanks for the raw!!
Yes, so it really is only 8 chapters, some one got my hopes up about 30.
Hmm, that was fast. I didn't expect anything on this week. Damn, im messing the days in my head again. So, only 6 left. Probably there's still no sign of nishi or izumi, maybe at the end of this mission.
