So I am a bit confused...

was that Nike with the Chainsaw and mask? Did he kill the thugs and the other 2 that were witness to the beating that Sora got from them?

If Nike did kill those 2... why did he?

Why did those 2 have chainsaws too?

Sora left the chick that gave him the handkerchief alive because she was the only one to care about his predicament?

This chapter has just confused me even more as to what exactly Sora's mentality is behind his behavior.

He (like Nike) just seems like 2 little egoistical psychopaths with a "why me?" attitude.

I also don't even understand what the hell Minami's motivation or deal is in all of this.

I have read and reread this chapter and still not making any sense in my head.

so this is after gazelle's death? now this is getting all sorts of confusing... he seems to have the drive at the end of this flashback as he did when he was in gazelle's flashback, yet he was just 'getting by' before bagram? i really want to see the original japanese script to confirm that line from minami. though from minami's side of things, the timing makes more sense that he's supporting sora now when in gazelle's flashback he was supporting gazelle.

Sora could've been lying to Ikki when he said he was just "getting by" back then, when he told him earlier about how he got Bagram.

@ghostexiled: Yes, Nike was the one who killed those guys. And the reason is that he was helping Sora take his "revenge". I'm not sure why those thugs had the chainsaws, though. Maybe for their own self-defense? In which this case they chickened out and couldn't do anything to help themselves. Idiotic cowards.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure Sora spared that girl because of the handkerchief and the fact that she helped him out. But what pissed me off there was that he said her soul was only worth as much as the weight of a handkerchief (isn't that really light?).

Of course, Sora has been thinking, since back then, that as one of the "failed experiments" or "defective goods," and therefore part of the 99% of the human population who are either failures or just really normal people who have to get by with hard work, he has a responsibility and destiny to help out that 99%. He's fighting Ikki because he considers him to be part of the talented 1%. Gazelle and Rika would also be considered part of the 1%, but he's using Rika to fight on his side.

To understand more, please either reread the last hundred or so chapters, or, better yet, the whole series.

i reread the whole serie this day, but still i can not understand this last chapters.
If he is so powerful why have all the trouble to regain the wind regalia?
im pissed about the regalia in the moment.

There is no reason for me to re-read the whole series....

I understood Sora's motivation the whole time up until he got the Sky regalia, afterwards his logic has been heavily clouded in a pool of weird and whining.

So he was a broken toy... welcome to the rest of the world.

He seems like a child that is upset and wants to take his toys and go home.

In other words, there is no logic behind his deeds. Besides being butt-hurt.

That and the fact that they weren't all whinny about what happened. Look at Spitfire he wasn't all bitchy he went out and created a life, I'm sure the others did as well.

It's pride. Sora's pride won't allow him to be one of the 99% since it would make his life meaningless to him, which is probably why he tried to steal Gazelle's Brain Charger before, so he could become part of the 1%. That didn't work out and it looks like he got depressed, but then Minami gave him a little pep talk about 'spirit' and 'courage', so he figured it's OK to be part of the 99% as long as he had the guts to change his life himself. Therefore people like those 2 guys there that don't have that courage are trash in his eyes.

Still sounds whiny of him though.

No you did not get the hankerchief part ... Remember the whole talk about the soul is worth nothing unless you do something productive to prove your worth, so basically Sora complemented her because unlike millions of useless people who are worth nothing her soul weighs as much as a hankerchief. There is a saying the goes like this "you get in return as much as you put in"

What O!G should do is go to Akira Toriyama-way of story-telling and roll with simplicity because the pseudo-poetry and hyper-metaphoric messages are killing the story.

I'm kinda confused. That time, when Minami gave Sora the Bagram, it should be the time when Sora already obtained the other Regalias from the other Kings, right? Why is he acting like he never had his hands on Bagram prior to that moment? Hmm... And also, Sora already have the Bagram when they pushed Gazelle to her death. Hmm....

I was wondering about that as well, Drylick. The already-established fact in the manga is that the Gravity Children already had their respective Regalia while they were in the Tower. But I guess Sora was saying it seems special because it already had the 20 cores he'd stolen from the other Gravity Children combined into it. And along with that, he'd also taken Gazellle's Thorn Regalia, to give to Rika. He had the Thorn Regalia's rune code, along with those of the other 20, plus the Wind's one. So he had 22 rune codes out of 28. That Bagram he got from Minami had the cores of the 20 Regalia he'd stolen combined into it along with the actual Wind Regalia core itself, which, as I said earlier, might be why he felt that it's a bit more special than the others.

@Toofly2fall: Thanks for the explanation. Much appreciated. But the saying you mentioned, I actually think it goes like this: "You reap what you sow". The meaning of it is the same as what you said. And the way you put it is similar to the quote from Fullmetal Alchemist about the first law of alchemy: "Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost."; basically, the concept of "Equivalent Exchange".

Lol wtf is going on. Its becoming so hard to read this...i was looking forward to sora and ikkis showdown for years now...this is not what i was expecting. Oh well i'll just keep on sticking with it i guess. Ikki used to get a lot of shit for being a manchild but i think thats sora in spades.

Wtf with the timing of this flashback....i cant believe that this is "after" the gazelle thing. How'd they take her down but sora gets beat up by random anime thug group #62?

I have to say I agree with much of what has been said about this chapter and Sora's characterisation in recent chapters. I haven't been all that satisfied with this fight but that's only because I desperately wanted it to be Kazu and Ikki Vs Sora and Nike.

And i read Ikkis confession to Ringo, IMO i dont want those two together, Simca is much better for him xD or Kururu.

It would be awesome if OG has Sora tell this story and the Air Gear worlds reaction is similar to ours. Where you see the audience start calling him whiny and bitchy and telling him to man up.
