That is absurd, whether sasuke is a criminal or not is not determined by whether he is caught. When sasuke is somewhere he has to go by their rules and respect them. If he does not like it, then he should not go there, it is that simple -that is how things work-. As evidence by jiraiya and tsunade, there are ways to leave the village without being a criminal. Problem here is, that sasuke picked the one that did make him one (join a terrorist, seriously...).

What about Danzou?
What about covert ops?
They operate in other villages, and they can be counted as terrorist by similar logic.

Still, Ninjas operate on secrecy and stealth. Just because a few ninjas like to be noisy, doesn't mean that the rest operate in similar fashion. And Assassination missions are included in such operations.

Also, Sasuke picked a side, one that offered him something that the other side didn't. That what a mercenary is defined as; or rogue if you will, similar to Zabuza.
He could be labeled as terrorist, scum, traitor or whatever; what it really means is that Sasuke just operates for a different client/boss. That's all it means.

And even if Sasuke does a mission in another village, it is that village's duty to respond. If they don't, then Sasuke isn't to blame for the lax security.

Should Sasuke die before the end of the manga or not, and why?

I personally don't want to see him die. I mean, I think it would be awesome in that it would be horrifically sad, but I think the character has been put through enough hell in his life. I'd like to see him make some kind of peace and somehow make a happy life for himself because I'm sympathetic like that.

well i'm reading the manga and so far none of his crimes are relly war crimes as specified by Geneva Protocol and all seme to be under some sort of influence. his later crimes seam to be from the influence of being brain washed by madara and when he became a missing nin he was
also under a influence (the cruse mark.) so far he's just being used as a puppet. I all ready decoded him and can read him like a book. so no he just needs to be confined to a psychiatric word and on meds.

People are always thinking about the Kages as being the source of justice, and that any action taken against the Kages' wills is considered a crime.

Guess what? The Kages themselves committed various crimes throughout the course of history, and each and every one of the crimes they've committed are always conveniently concealed behind 'I do this for the village!". For instance, Raikage was involved in the Hyuga incident in which Neji's father was sacrificed to prevent an all out war between Konohagakure and Kumogakure. The Tsuchikage invaded and almost reached the border of the land of fire in the third ninja world war. And the then-Kazekage conspired with Orochimaru to try to attack Konoha from within.

So, it's absurd to say that going against a village or two makes a person bad or irredeemable.

Just my take on this, I didn't really follow the whole discussion.

Sasuke was lawfully eligible for a death warrant the moment it was established he willingly left Konoha to go to the enemy, potentially gifting one of the village's greatest foes of the time with a healthy body and an extrememly dangerous weapon.

Killing Itachi might have helped fix that if only he'd come back right afterwards. But then, he attacked Killer Bee, and the following chain of events plus is own actions essentially mean every single village out there is now out to kill him for retribution.

The only way he could have avoided that is by making it clear that he was under mind control of some kind, which isn't the case if Tobi is to be believed.

So now unless Kishi pulls something really, really huge and cheesy and highly unlikely, there is no believable way in which he can be allowed to live. Which isn't the same as surviving as a fugitive, his only plausible option as far as I'm concerned.

Not to say that the Kage are completely pure and without sin, but unfortunately "lawful" and "fair" aren't always the same thing. What happened to Sasuke is horrific, and I would have gone every bit as insane as he is in the same situation. But that doesn't prevent the consequences of his actions from happening...

I think the mind control argument died some time ago, but even if not clearly the mind control argument died in chapter 486. Sasuke was fighting, Madara wasn't around for Sasuke v. Kakashi or Naruto, and Sasuke still went forward with killing intent, but when Madara showed up and was taking Sasuke away, these are the words he was met with:

I believe that Redemption equals Death for him would be his most likely fate in the end ...he's pissed off to many people to be alive at the very end

For this question i would say Yes and No.

Yes, Sasuke shud die for his sins so that he is punished for what he did.
But should be brought back to life to have a good and peaceful life afterwards, since he has seen hell in life, he should have a life which is more peaceful and happy, and without guilt.

I don't think he'll die. I believe the Uchiha line will survive in the end. The Uchiha were a victim of the ninja system. If Naruto were to change the ninja system it would be unfulfilling if the victim perished in the process. I think Naruto will be able to save his friend where as Jiraiya failed to save Orochimaru. That has been hinted for ages and will come true by the end of the series. Will Sasuke attone for his sins? Dunno. Danzo had the Uchiha eliminated, Sasuke eliminated Danzo. I believe Konoha will put that to a rest. If Bee can forgive Motoi for trying to stab him in the back you think he's gonna hold a grudge against Sasuke for kidnapping? No. So the real issue is him attacking some fodder ninja. They're fodder ninja...who cares.
