Code Geass: Akito the Exiled Promo Video Streamed

Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Gets Film Project

    Quote Quote:
Yoshitaka Kawaguchi, the producer of the Code Geass anime franchise, announced on Thursday that a film adaptation of the original Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion anime is being planned. Kawaguchi specifically said that the film adaptation is for the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion story and not the separate Code Geass: Akito the Exiled.

Kawaguchi and fellow Code Geass producer Atsushi Yukawa described the film project as a "dream" project. On the screen at the event were the words "Project Launch."
A Code Geass movie with Lelouch *_* I doubt it's just a recab, otherwise the producers wouldn't call it a dream project. Really looking forward to it!

New series looks promising too, wonder what the story will be about.

NisiOisin Anime Project's 10th Work to Be New Story

    Quote Quote:
This year's second issue of Switch magazine published a full-page interview with author NisiOisin and director Akiyuki Shinbo on Friday. Towards the end of the interview, NisiOisin exclaimed that the ongoing "NisiOisin Anime Project" initiative will have 10 works. He noted that four works in the project — the last being the Kizumonogatari film — have already been green-lit. Shinbo noted with a laugh that this is an exclusive scoop and concluded the interview by saying that the commemorative 10th project will be a new, original script by NisiOisin, as opposed to an adaptation of an existing novel.

The first three "NisiOisin Anime Project" works are the Bakemonogatari series, the Katanagatari series, and the ongoing Nisemonogatari series. Shinbo expressed his desire to animate all of NisiOisin's "Monogatari" novels.
wow so there will be 6 more anime/movies from Nisio Ishin and there seems to be a good chance that all the Monogatari novels will be animted, that makes me quite happy

Ouran Cast Films Crossover in Shirato Osamu no Jikenbo Show

Haruna Kawaguchi, others make cameo in series starring Yūdai Chiba (Ouran's Honey)

The main cast of the Ouran High School Host Club film will make a cameo on the eighth episode of Shirato Osamu no Jikenbo (The Case Files of Osamu Shirato), the Japanese live-action detective series starring Yūdai Chiba as the title character, on March 16. Not coincidentally, Chiba also played the character Mitsukuni "Honey" Haninozuka in the manga-based live-action Ouran High School Host Club series, which aired in Shirato Osamu no Jikenbo's timeslot last July. The Ouran High School Host Club film will open in Japan on March 17, one day after the crossover episode airs.

In the crossover scene, Ouran High School Host Club's heroine Haruhi (played by Haruna Kawaguchi) and male co-lead Tamaki Suou (Yusuke Yamamoto) are surprised to see Shirato walking past, and calls out, "Wha—? Is that you, Honey-sempai?" Shirato replies, "No, sorry, I'm Shirato," and the two sides chat for a bit. Even though Chiba will be playing (and dressing as) Shirato in the scene, he will be clutching Honey's signature "Usa-chan" plush rabbit.

    Gon Animation Slated for April

    Quote Quote:
A fold-out poster advertising the May issue of Kodansha's Afternoon magazine announced that a 3D computer-graphics (CG) animated adaptation of Masashi Tanaka's Gon manga will begin in April of this year. Previously, a Korean television adaptation of the series was announced in 2008 for an early 2010 broadcast. It was then pushed back to late 2011, but it has yet to be released.

The manga itself will resume in a new series in the May issue next month.

Wrath of the Titans Writer Discusses Live-Action Bleach

    Quote Quote:
Wrath of the Titans screenwriter Dan Mazeau discussed his upcoming projects, including the live-action adaptation of Tite Kubo's manga Bleach. Mazeau explained that both getting the rights and the scriptwriting itself were a long process for Bleach: "But early on we set down with Tite Kubo the creator and the publisher of the series, and we had a long meeting, making sure we're respectful to the property. Nobody wants to, well… Let's just say that if you enjoyed [the live-action] Dragonball Z movie, that's great, but I thought it was a noble effort that ultimately didn't succeed. That's what we're trying to avoid. We want to make sure this movie lives up to what the manga is."

He added, "I'm currently working on Bleach and the idea is to set it in Japan and really be respectful to the source material. It's an amazing story. I've been shorthanding it as an 'action-adventure Sixth Sense,' but obviously on a bigger canvas than that. So I'm incredibly excited about that. It's a good one.”

Anime of All of NisiOisin's Monogatari Novels 'Officially' Green-Lit

    Quote Quote:
A supplemental extra to the mailed Nisio Tsūshin newsletter is reporting that production on the anime adaptation of NisiOisin's entire Monogatari novel series has been "officially" green-lit.

The first "NisiOisin Anime Project" works are the Bakemonogatari series, the Katanagatari series (whish is separate from the Monogatari series), the recent Nisemonogatari series, and the upcoming Kizumonogatari film. Bakemonogatari and Nisemonogatari director Akiyuki Shinbo had already expressed his desire to animate all of the Monogatari novel in an interview published in January. Shinbo noted with a laugh in another interview that the commemorative 10th work will be a new, original script by NisiOisin, as opposed to an adaptation of an existing novel.

NisiOisin's Upcoming Monogatari Anime Works Outlined

    Quote Quote:
Further details on the release format and schedule of the upcoming anime adaptations of NisiOisin's Mongoatari novels have been revealed by a supplemental extra to the mailed Nisio Tsūshin newsletter. According to the extra, the release of the upcoming Kizumonogatari film will be delayed past 2012.

The extra also states that producers want to create an anime adaptation of Nekomonogatari (Black), the last title of the Monogatari novel series's "first season," into a still-undecided format, then adapt the six works that make up the "second season" of the Monogatari series that span from Nekomonogatari (White) to Koimonogatari as a 26-episode TV series. The "third season" of Monogatari novels, Tsukimonogatari, Owarimonogatari, and Zokuowarimonogatari, will be released this year.
Berserk Films to be Distributed in 16 Countries Globally

    Quote Quote:
It was announced on Tuesday that the recent anime film trilogy adaptation of Kentaro Miura's Berserk manga has been licensed for distribution in 16 countries around the world. Viz Media announced that they would be releasing the film in North America during their panel at Sakura-Con on Saturday.

The trilogy has been licensed for release in North America, Canada [sic], Russia, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Australia, and South Korea. A release date for any of these regions has yet to be announced, though Viz announced that their edition would be out this fall.

The trilogy stars Hiroaki Iwanaga (Tomica Hero Rescue Force, Moyashimon, Kamen Rider OOO) as Guts, Takahiro Sakurai (Toriko, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, AnoHana) as Griffith, and Toa Yukinari (Grey's Anatomy dubbing, Naruto Shippūden) as Casca. Toshiyuki Kubooka (Batman: Gotham Knight episode 5) is directing the films and Ichiro Okouchi (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) is handling the screenplay.

Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen I: Haō no Tamago opened in Japan on February 4. The film will be released on Blu-ray and DVD in Japan on May 23.

The second film in the series, Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen II: Doldrey Kōryaku (Berserk Golden Age Arc II: The Battle for Doldrey), is slated to be released in theaters in Japan on June 23. That film is scheduled to run for about 100 minutes and will focus on the epic battle by the Kingdom of Midland to retake Doldrey Castle from the Chuder Empire. Berserk Ōgon Jidai-Hen III: Kōrin (Berserk Golden Age Arc III: Descent) will open later in 2012 and run for about 110 minutes. In this film, the story "delves nonstop into the abyss of dark fantasy."

Toonami returns May 26th on Adult Swim [Cartoon Network]!

I know how we feel about dubs, but they were the only way to watch anime when I was younger so it definitely brings back a sense of nostalgia. It's also a way to get into the classics again such as Trigun, Sailormoon, DBZ and Cardcaptors.

A big news for all Chihayafuru's fans!

    Quote Quote:
The wraparound jacket band on the 17th volume of Yuki Suetsugu's Chihayafuru manga is revealing next week that a second anime season will launch.

This story, which follows a schoolgirl competing in the Japanese card game of karuta, won the second Manga Taisho (Cartoon Grand Prize). Chihayafuru also won the shōjo manga category in last year's Kodansha Manga Awards, and topped the female category of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! book listings the year before.

The manga already inspired a 25-episode television anime season from October 2011 to March 2012. Crunchyroll streamed the first season into several countries as it aired in Japan.
I didn't think second season will start this fast... Not sure if it is a good idea, maybe they need to give the manga more time to grow on its own so they can follow the plot properly... Either way, fingers crossed. I need more of this anime! XD

Yup, I'm so looking forward to it! you're mistaken though, the scanlations are up to episode 20 (respectively chapter 37). Going by the speed the anime probably ends around chapter 45-50.
Chihayafuru on the other hand currently has 94 chapters released, which means that there still is a lot of material to animate. This fact and that Madhouse is producing the anime makes me sure that they will stay true to the manga plot
