Although hardly anything happened in this chapter, 18 is still one of the best chapters New Waves has had thus far. Shioon finally demonstrating his firmness; Elder Jeon being
brainwashedconverted to the Church of Shioon; shady business with a Doc who'll be showing up later in the story; etc.
Most important about this chapter, however, is the maintaining of the masquerade. Hyuk So Chun and others spoke about the need to maintain the masquerade and hinted the potential chaos that would erupt if the actions of Goomoonryong and others were not halted. Previously in Gyu-Bum's conversation with Kangsung, it was revealed that the Alliance has lost a considerable amount of manpower and influence courtesy of Goomoonryong's rampage. That effect has led to numerous factions disregarding the need to keep their affairs private from the public and have fights in open areas and disregarding innocent bystanders getting caught in their gimmicks. One such faction is the S.U.C, and their actions have led to commoners speaking Goomoonryong's name. The masquerade is now one step closer to being shattered.
I'm not sure where the author will take the story. I'm about 50/50 right now on where the author will take the story (maintain the masquerade or destroy it). I'm leaning towards the author preserving it since Shioon's job is to ultimately reform the Murim and act as a counter to Goomoonryong's destructive actions. Kind of hard to do these things since shattering the masquerade would hinder these upcoming plot developments.
- The traditionalists/conservatists, who wants to keep the Murim as it is now (The Alliance, mostly, led by Kangsung).
- The reformists, who'll want to keep the Murim but reform it. (led by Shioon and probably Hyuk So Chun)
- The destroyers, who wants to see the Murim destroyed (The Black Forest Defense and those schools and goomooonryong-wannabes that have joined'em, led by the mysterious leader of the BFD and Goomooonryong).
Mind you, if this is the way things'll be, then I'm guessing that sooner or later the Alliance will have to relent and accept the reforms that the reformists'll be pushing for, joining them, sorta.
On page 8, top panel, I tried translating both bubbles myself and it was a total failure.
In the A-Team release, the numbers are one higher (8&9).
Because they included and count the chapter cover. (credits page is 000a)
The Korean source is here: http://cartoon.media.daum.net/webtoon/viewer/10382
Turn to page six. I'm asking for a translation on the middle right panel & top left?
Sorry I tried and all I got was the vaguest notion on the left side that, "Starting today, more than likely he will not dance with you. I know he has gambled, Now that eggs would not function properly."
~ What I got doesn't match either translator.

The word you're probably talking about is 굴리다, I believe.
"그저 네가 대결하는 걸 포기시키기 위해 무조건 굴리는 것에 불과하다고."
He was simply abusing your body in order to get you to give up on the duel.
"왜냐면 널 아무리 굴려도 통하지 않을 거라는 걸 알게 되었으니 말이야."
Cause now he knows that no matter what he puts you through won't work anyways.
굴리다 can mean a lot of things but in this case it probably means to abuse, treat carelessly, etc. So A-Team's translation does pretty much convey the message across - that Asian Lebron James is working Shiwoon over / taxing his body / treating his body recklessly. So the tired thing could work, and is probably better than trying to do an overly literal translation. And because the words "abusing your body" doesn't sound too nice, no matter how you put it.
Other definitions of 굴리다 can include...
1) roll;; 공을 굴리다, roll a ball
2) invest;; 돈을 굴리다, invest money
Also, 잔머리를 굴리다 can mean "to rattle one's brain" or something like that.
Much appreciated, ChaoticKen. I enjoyed your funny summary.
Great explanation. So the suspicion of Shiwoon stamina dramatically increasing (not getting tired) might yet be true. It could still mean Shiwoon is a Block Head, but on the second day of Endless Training it went from morning past night fall (like a ~20-33% increase). Elder Jeon laughed when he tried to speak, the same way someone who is tired would, after giving their all in a race or workout.Quote:

Also attempted to explain the difference between Ki Medicine & Ki Energy.

I'm beginning to believe that Shiwoon won't need to focus his ki... eventually anyway.
His general level of ki will be so high that it will be same as a regular person's concentrated ki. He will be able to do ki attacks like soul crushing strike with every blow and it will be like breathing to him.... eventually.
The key to it all is raising his stamina, just like he has been doing this last 'week'. The idea behind using a ki-center is taking ki from a contentrated location and putting it where it is needed to use a ki skill. If you don't have enough ki at the right place you can't do the skill.
It's actually a very important Clue. If you think it is "Quite Interesting"? Then I'll give it one more go, trying for clarity.Originally Posted by ksmith
Well said. I was stuck on how weak Shiwoon was many chapters ago. Much weaker than his normal punch against Changho in Part 1. So Why? New Waves ch1, He literally waited to be the last person to leave class in order to avoid bullies. Then later when Jinie came to school, classmates called him a bread truck/shuttle. His reputation should have risen a little, because of punching Changho?Originally Posted by dsraider
How did losing his Ki Center make him so weak? IMO, Because it was smashed when he barely had enough Ki to stand. So he stayed that weak with only a "trickle charge" from breathing getting through to replenish him. Being full of Ki Medicine, does not equal Ki Energy. You said it especially well. He is now producing his own Ki. The Ki medicine in his blood makes it possible, to do so without a Ki Center. But it is a trickle charge.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle_charging His body will only learn to charge as fast as he is able to Discharge Ki. I'm guessing, hitting empty in New Waves increases the maximum his body will recharge with. That's the reason the Endless Training worked!! Based on the two above moments and his Behavior against the Strong Sword School he did not have a lot of Ki, until the Endless Training. And that is the only Reason the Doc said he had a Lot of Ki. Otherwise his body strength would have been the same against Strong Sword School (or Elder Jeon) as it was with Changho and, at that time, his natural punching strength.

Long story short, no Breaker today.
Started working on the manuscript too late.
Apologizing for not being professional.
Promising to ensure it won't happen again.
Nope. No chapter this week. Consider it a week off, if one got weeks off for not being able to meet deadlines.
I wish we could get a bit of forewarning when there isn't going to be a chapter. A few hours before it is supposed to be released hardly counts.
cover chap 19 from http://blog.naver.com/tdstudio.do
they made a nice trailer for publicity of the breaker in france
