Sanae's pregnancy did draw a smile on my face, but as a whole it's not something I'm giving much attention in this particular manga. The speaker's comments on the reason for Ishizaki's inclusion in the team, as well as the starting XI for Japan were much more interesting
To me, the only surprise in the starting line-up is Matsuyama playing in midfield. I thought Misugi would be there.
And Jito is HUUUUUUUUUUGE!!! Just look at him on the 7th page
LOL..Sanae's situation almost made my cry Maybe because I already went through such a thing ( well, my wife not me of course )
Ishizaki's was funny too..And the unlimited subs is really fun..I like such stuff.
The data book isn't accurate. You should look at world youth again, the proportions were even more exagerated.
Sanae's pregnancy was important to me because:
1-it's not like Sanae gets a lot of space in the manga.
2-It's not like we see the characters in every day life situations, in fact it's even lacking. I'd like to see more characters in non-soccer situations.
3-And maybe the most important, this is another detail drawing the storyline near to the Millennium Dream... Which makes it interesting for farther predictions: Tsubasa injured in the semi-finals? Semi finals against Spain? Sho curing Tsubasa? Oh, and even more importantly, a defeat for Tsubasa in the group matches?

Thanks, Silen ^_^
I also forgot to mention I wasn't surprised at all by Matsuyama's position, he was MF during the whole World Youth.
Yeah, Matsuyama plays the role of a Defensive Mid Fielder(Volante), but also, he can play as a Centre Back (like in Sub-16 Championship).
Anyway, i have nothing to comment about Sanae.
And...I looking foward to see Sano on field, and his new futsal skills.
Also, it would be nice to see the Shutetsu trio on field again xD.
Matsuyama was more like a sweeper on Shin.
So basically, we have Sorimachi replacing Hyuga, and the Futsal combi instead of Tsubasa and Shingo. Interesting. I'm looking forward to see what Sorimachi's defensive abilities can bring, he had zero development since he was introduced until now.
Anyway it's not surprising at all to see him as a MF.
I wouldn't call Sorimachi replacing Hyuga, and the Futsal combi instead of Tsubasa and Shingo "interesting". It's like the team didn't change at all. Kira talked about changing positions and there's nothing like that at all.
Sorimachi had development. He scored many goals for Toho when Hyuga wasn't there, took the ball from Pierre against France, scored against Nankatsu in Holland Youth, defended against Thaïland... It's just that his development is porportional to his importance. You can't expect such a secondary character to do as much as Hyuga or even Soda.
Something that bothers me are the shots taken in CT...theyre either inside the net, hit the post/crossbar, or go over (cant remember, im certain at least a few shots went over tho), but NONE ever seem to go wide.
You mean with the ball going to the side of the goal?
If it's this, then it happened. At least once for Nitta (Tsubasa actually changed the course a bit), and Izawa did something like that too.
Yeah, ball goes wide, just our term of the ball going to the side instead of goal. Happens a lot in real life football ya know. CT players are just so accurate...at either scoring or hitting post, like anything else away from it is not there.
But like I said, it happened
to happen often would be a waste of comic panels
