Ichigo is seen conversing with Kyoraku, Ukitake, and Unohana about the zanpakuto crisis. Ichigo explains that the ringleader, Muramasa, has unusual abilities. As they discuss this further, Renji arrives in the room. He is seen with the two Zabimaru spirits (which still have the same form in the real world as opposed to what was seen in the SS arc). As Renji explains his situation, the two Zabimarus begin to argue with Renji. This causes some chaos in the room. Unohana begins to talk to Renji to which she shows an intimidating look. Renji becomes increasingly scared and worried. Title card.
The zanpakuto spirits converse in the dark cave. Gegetsuburi underestimates the Shinigami while Kazeshini hates the fact that he is not killing right now. An argument begins with the two of them, only stopped by Hozukimaru. Haineko adds in the conversation with her boresome. Tobiume begins to argue with Haineko in a catfight. Hyorinmaru is seen looking on with disgust.
Muramasa appears in the dark cave where he stops the fighting. Hozukimaru asks Muramasa about when they can finally make a move. Muramasa explains about Ichigo Kurosaki's unusual powers. Kazeshini is impressed, wishing to kill him. Muramasa decides not to send Kazeshini out. Tobiume talks to Gegetsuburi. Ruriro Kujaku also adds in to the conversation.
At the 4th squad's healing room, Ichigo and Isane are seen talking to Rukia. Ichigo tells Rukia that they have not yet found Byakuya. Rukia remembers the incident for herself. Ikkaku appears in the room himself and explains that he has heard the situation with the zanpakuto. At night, we see some random Shinigami keeping guard and yawning. They are knocked out by somebody (whom I believe to be Byakuya).
Omaeda is seen walking the Seireitei eating some rice crackers. Other Shinigami following him comment on his fatness. Omaeda yells at them and they stop. Omaeda bumps into somebody and his rice crackers fell on the ground. Omaeda gets up and sees his men being knocked out. The two that attacked them are Gegetsuburi and Hozukimaru. Omaeda interacts with his zanpakuto spirit and they begin to eat and enjoy some rice crackers.
They begin to laugh happily together. Omaeda pats Gegetsuburi's back and believes that he is the perfect zanpakuto spirit for him. Gegetsuburi gets in an argument with Omaeda, saying that he belongs to nobody. This erupts into a fight where Gegetsuburi uses his Shikai. Omaeda, who cannot use Shikai right now, resorts to fighting with the sealed zanpakuto.
As the fight begins, Omaeda is knocked by a stone wall that falls down. The ones that broke the wall are Ichigo and Ikkaku. Ikkaku clashes fights with Hozukimaru. As they begin fighting, the two begin some crazy dance (and here I thought Hozukimaru was a "lazy bum," but seems to be the same as Ikkaku.) Ichigo and Gegetsuburi are left speechless by this.
Ikkaku yells at Ichigo that it is his battle preparation dance and faces his opponent in battle. Gegetsuburi attacks Ichigo with his spiked ball. Ichigo easily dodges and begins an argument with the spirit. The battle between Hozukimaru and Ikkaku erupts. Ikkaku gets some slices into his opponent while taunting him at the same time. They clash their swords (Ikkaku's unreleased sword/sheath and Hozukimaru's shikai). Ikkaku is impressed by the opponent.
Hozukimaru decides to use the Bankai of his Zanpakuto. As the smoke clears, Ryumon Hozukimaru falls to the ground near Hozukimaru. Ichigo continues to fight with Gegetsuburi. Ichigo releases his sword from the bandages and uses Getsuga Tensho to repel the spiked ball back. Gegetsuburi becomes dizzy and becomes hit by his own shikai form near the top of a building.
Ikkaku is being cornered by Hozukimaru and is forced down. As Ichigo tries to help him, Ikkaku refuses to accept anybody's help in the battle. Ikkaku begins to pant. Suddenly, as the attack begins, Soifon and her men interrupt the fight. Along with Soifon are Ukitake and Kyoraku. Ikkaku yells for interrupting the fight. Hozukimaru uses the bankai's spinning attack to charge reiatsu and launch it downward, forcing the Omnitskudo guys to the ground.
As Hozukimaru gets away, the other Omnitskudo capture Gegetsuburi and recognize it as Omaeda's sword. As Soifon tries to find her vice-captain, he is seen on the ground. Soifon departs the other two captains for now. Ichigo is seen chasing Hozukimaru. As the attack goes through, he sees some pink light followed by some cherry blossoms (Senbonzakura's attack). Ichigo uses bankai to repel the attack. Ichigo is surprised to see Byakuya attack him. He begins to vanish. Ichigo calls out Byakuya's name. TO BE CONTINUED
Episode preview- The preview is narrated by Omaeda and Soifon. We see several characters such as Unohana, Haineko, Tobiume, Hyorinmaru, Ichigo, and Muramasa.
Omake- Renji is seen practicing with his sword and takes a break for lunch. He sees a frog and is surprised about this. Zabimaru-M begins to want to frog, saying that he loves frogs. Zabimaru-F replied that she already ate their food and all that's left is the frog.
