Maximum Ride isn't manwha. Its American so you could call it OEL(Original English Language) manga I guess...lol

No, its American. Yen Plus actually have two OEL manga. Maximum Ride and Night School. Don't believe me? Maybe this will help.

Its still drawn in the United States and not Korea making it OEL manga, not manwha....manwha is only comics FROM Korea. Same as manga is only comics from Japan regardless of who draws and writes them.

Deb Aoki (manga expert) from manga.about.com said it was "Western-style storytelling with some dynamic manhwa artwork". I see it as a hybrid, no more discussion on this since it's going off topic.

Re: New York Times Manga Best Sellers

Maximum Ride, Soul Eater, and Yotsuba are all NYT regulars now. Yen Press is doing fairly well nowadays! Poor Tokyopop and Del Rey... Now that Tokyopop's done releasing Fruits Basket and D.N.Angel (for now), they won't be on this list much anymore. Del Rey's almost out of luck as well. They only have a year left of Tsubasa volumes until it's finished, so they should invest in some new series ASAP.

lol. Del Ray won't get any. Their contract with Kodansha ends after 2010. Kodansha will keep anything with sales potential for themselves.

Re: New York Times Manga Best Sellers

It makes me laugh that I buy next to zero of the mangas on the top 10 list. The only one I've gotten as of late was Black Bird but that was a present.

Back on topic - I may have to rethink not reading that Change the World novel. I really liked the BB murders one that I didn't want to read anymore things related to Death Note after the series was over.
