Maximun Ride is selling pretty good. Great to see an American manga style comic doing so well. I've only read one chapter out of a random Yen Plus magazine but it was pretty good.

So, if anyone needed further proof that Akamatsu and CLAMP are popular in the US...there you have it.

Soul Eater also has good legs in the US.

its korean style terrible overused boring plot its not good enough to be one of the freebie mangas given at kinokuninya if u spend over 100 dollars.

Korean, American. Same left to right drawing style. But the books its based on are really popular so that's probably contributing to it selling so well.

Well, Soul Eater is definitely a huge success in the US now. Yen Press has to be very pleased with how it has been holding up over the past month plus.

Re: New York Times Manga Best Sellers

Yen Press is easily the next big publisher in the U.S. Soul Eater, Maximum Ride, and Higurashi are big hits now and Nobari no Ou will probably become a hit sooner or later.

They seem to be. Del Ray should be the second, Kodansha Comics is far bigger than any publisher Yen can work with. Due to their horrible taste in manga, Del Ray has failed to license many of Kodansha's big series. They have also waited longer then necessary for others.

Hopefully One Piece will stick around for a few weeks. It needs to build up sales momentum for the 30+ volumes coming out soon.
