I've yet to even listen to the new material (seeing as the only decent record store here closed down years ago, and the nearest one now is about an hour's drive away), I'll probably look for tracks on youtube. If I like it I'll go out and buy it.
From a musician's POV, Maiden's been churning out SSDD albums. They're not doing anything new anymore. Not that it's bad, it just takes a bit of the excitement off.
im not to sure how popular they are in other countries..but have you guys heard of Bullet For My Valentine...they did a new album this year called fever and it amazing ..il put a link up to the opening song from the album the drum is guitars are amazing..and they amazing live
I have heard of bullet for my valentine many times but never really heard them because I don't really like their name lol reminds an emo band xD
So I listened to some of their songs. I like the instrumental part but I think the Vocals are kinda generic I think the guy could have a more agressive voice.
Well but that's just me because I like rough voices instead of clean ones.

I used to listen to Bullet for my Valentine and I must say the band is pretty good. I haven't listened to the new stuff, but they had awesome rhythm and guitars. Vocals aren't bad accept for being whiny at rare occasions, but overall, definitely worth checking out.
People often connected them with emo culture because of some songs that were named a bit emoishly, but once I actually went and listened to it, it's good music.
The genre would be metalcore, IIRC, if that means anything to anyone.
I'm a Bullet For My Valentine fan myself but I haven't really listened to the new album. I have it but it just hasn't really caught my attention. I originally saw them Live opening for A7X during Taste of Chaos a few years back but I didn't know who they were then. After seeing them live I got into them.
i prob gona get abuse or kidnapped then raped for saying this but....
i find metallica overrated...i dont understand the big fuss over them...
But you know, when you see a band like Metallica playing this song
Disposable Heroes - 1985
And then, almost 25 years later playing the same song like this!!
Disposable Heroes - 2009
There is not doubt in my mind, Metallica is the best Fucking Rock Band in the World
I cant remenber a band that could play like that after almost 30 years.. Maybe only AC/DC and Iron Maiden are in that level..
I cant imagine any of this nu-metal bands doing the same thing...
My only other thing to add to your list would be Heaven And Hell (Black Sabbath) because Dio still had it last year when I saw him. Heaven And Hell sounded even better now that they were all older. They and Dio are gonna be missed, they honestly still had at least ten years worth of talent left in them all but then Dio passed .
it i just never got into them..
i try to listen to them but find them bit repetative n dull...music or vocals dont have the kick i expect..plus sometimes find them bit arrogante the way the talk about other bands..
a example is a vid someone put on youtube of them looking at setlist in leeds n looking what band is on stage they see it Muse and they just go well they got alot of shit songs...then next part of vid they talking to Matt B from muse all friendly.
i admit i have the S&M album it different but just find them dull.
not trying insult people or anything just i dont see why alot of people espically all these young kids thinking metallica are gods n all..i agree they influecne nearly every band there is now ...
I agree that Metallica are a great band specially when you take in acount that they've been on the road almost non stop for decades. Hetfield still has a great voice live.
I don't know all of metallica songs because I don't have all their albums but I liked every song from every album I have and songs my friends showed me.
I don't think Metallica are Arrongant maybe a bit but if you look at it every one of the big 4 of trash Metal are a bit arrogant.
Well maybe a lot if we are talking about Mustaine
- Kill 'Em All
- Ride the Lightning
- Master of Puppets
- …And Justice for All
was great. It was after 1994 they started to experiment and tried to have different sound and all that stuff, which became boring and they lost their originality. The reason you may find them boring and repetitive is mainly because Metal/Rock changed so much after late 1990s and early 2000s. Its not what I grew up listening to, the sound is more alternative, grunge, and industrial then it ever used to be. And one of the reason I listen to Doom and Black Metal, as they are keeping their originality.
I actually like their newer stuff as well. I liked Death Magnetic as an album because compared to St. Anger it was actually returning to their routes a little bit more but then also went in a new direction. The point I see with them is that they just don't want to keep putting out the same thing every time so they tried different things for their newer albums. St. Anger definitely wasn't their best album bit I even find songs on their that I actually enjoy. As a whole I love Metallica, I may not listen to them every few seconds nor do I actually want to because there are so many other bands that I love but if a Metallica song comes on the radio (and as long as its not Enter Sandman) then I'm gonna listen to it and love it.
